Mounjaro suppliers objective opinion

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 22/08/2024 10:44

Hi, looking for a supplier for Mounjaro but I'm interested in objective opinions around price and service, rather than trying to get a discount code. I think there could be some push from some people to get their code used and therefore a recommendation might not be completely accurate. Thanks

Mine came this morning and I've been thinking about it all day. I keep swinging between what you've just said about being the first step to a slimmer me, and oh my goodness what am I thinking?!

I'm undecided when to do it. Just before I go to sleep or once the kids have gone to bed? And should I try and keep my stomach empty before taking it or just eat as normal? I can't decide and everyone says different.

I read the instructions that came with it and it said it didn't matter if you've eaten or not, but I don't know in reality if one is better than the other. I'll do it before bed I think as there's less chance of kids distracting me. Good luck!

How are Zava's shipping times at the moment? Also, is their box relatively plain? I'd like to have it delivered to work as there's no way I'll be home once school starts (work in a school!)

(Also, do they use Royal Mail? Just wondering as I know what time of day we usually have our deliveries from them)

Thank you!

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 24/08/2024 22:48

@Rorpethy I did it! I was so nervous before jabbing but can confirm it didn't hurt at all. Now we wait 😳

Rorpethy · 25/08/2024 06:32

@SaulHudsonDavidJones well done! I managed it too. I thought I was going to chicken put at the last minute but I didn't. How are you feeling this morning? I feel weak and wobbly as though I haven't eaten but I've only been up 5 minutes.

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 25/08/2024 07:24

Well done you too! I think I feel...normal haha. Nothing different yet.

The box is plain (just has keep refrigerated on it) and smaller than it used to be as they have changed their packaging to a zip cool bag. Delivery is Royal Mail. When I ordered last week, I ordered on Monday and got it Wednesday lunch time. The ice pack was melted but still cold after 24 hours since despatch. Obviously they may take longer if you are a new customer.

HaleyBrookeandPeyton · 25/08/2024 08:03

I've used a few & am now sticking with Oushk. It's easy to order, upload photos etc & it always arrives on the day it's supposed to.

I'm on their Facebook support page & their prescriber does regular talks & shares knowledge etc. She's very helpful & customer service is fantastic from what I've seen (I've never had need to contact them myself).

There are no referral codes but occasional discounts which I'm happy with.

They will also prescribe long term for maintenance when you reach your desired bmi without any time limits which is a major plus for me.

I definitely recommend Oushk.

Rorpethy · 25/08/2024 08:14

Yep I think I feel normal too. I do have a headache but that's quite normal for me. Let me know how your day goes.

TheWildRoseBear · 25/08/2024 12:17

100% recommend Oushk. Amazing service and support from what I have seen. Only used them once and will be sticking with them.

They have just put a discount code up on their Facebook page

“Oushk Support Group” if anyone is interested

toptotoeinsequin · 25/08/2024 12:23

I started with Pharmacy2U and have now moved to MedExpress. P2U send me a £40 off code every month to tempt me back but I'm sticking with MedExpress now. I've had no issues with 3 pen deliveries so far. They are also doing maintenance for 2 years which is the main reason I'm staying with them now.

tastytreatsnomore · 22/08/2024 14:39

I'm with Voy, one of the more expensive providers unless you post the referral codes and someone uses them, the referral codes being used makes the pens half price at about£114 per pen but it is a real pain having to keep posting the codes and also very annoying seeing them all the time. Voy do offer good support and they automatically send out the pens monthly but you can delay the delivery dates to suit you. They don't inform your GP which is good if you want nobody to know.
Would probably go with another provider if you happy for Gp to be informed and you want a cheaper provider, most of the other providers seem reliable and more affordable going by posts. I do a weekly weigh in with Voy and am on my 4th pen and I have lost a very good amount of weight.

Why wouldn’t someone want their GP to know? Surely its not that safe taking a POM and not having some note of it on your Health record. Unless you have an ED and are obtaining it for that purpose??

Thanks so much, this is exactly what I wanted to know.

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 26/08/2024 09:47

@Rorpethy How's it going? I'm not sure how quickly it's supposed to kick in but I've still found myself feeling hungry. I guess it's early days but I really hope I'm not one that it doesn't seem to work for.

OP posts:
Rorpethy · 26/08/2024 09:59

@SaulHudsonDavidJones same here. I feel hungry and I'm thinking about food. Maybe slightly less than normal?

How have you been with side effects? I'm absolutely fine this morning, apart from feeling slightly sick, but yesterday was a complete write off. I felt nauseous all day and had the migraine from hell. I spent half of yesterday in bed. I barely eat anything but that was only from feeling so ill.

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 26/08/2024 10:15

Aw that's not good, glad you're feeling better today. I don't seem to have had any side effects thankfully but aware that might change as the dosage builds up.

OP posts:
Rorpethy · 26/08/2024 16:56

So as the day's gone on, the suppression has kicked in. It's so weird not to feel hungry or crave food.

Rorpethy · 29/08/2024 08:16

How are you getting on @SaulHudsonDavidJones

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 29/08/2024 08:47

@Rorpethy I think it's going well. Side effects have been minimal and I'm eating a lot less. It's very strange, I get hungry and a rumbly tummy but then I think about food and don't want a lot, or anything bad. I've had a stressful few days so I'm wondering what is MJ and what is stress. How are you getting on?

OP posts:
Rorpethy · 29/08/2024 10:01

Sounds like it's going well for you. Have you weighed yet? Hope the stress is a temporary thing! It's 50/50 here. I'm eating less and definitely less cravings. I'm still feeling a bit of hunger but I don't feel like I'm having to use much willpower so that's great. Side effects aren't great though as I wake up with a headache most days, my legs are aching quite badly and I'm completely exhausted despite going to bed at around 8.30 every night. Oh and constipation. Fun!

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 29/08/2024 11:06

Actually yes, you've reminded me of a constant headache- but not sure if it's stress! Not quite constipation but a very fine line! Glad it's easier to resist food, I've felt that too. I guess it will ramp up as the weeks go by. I haven't weighed yet no.

I’m using Care Pharmacy.
They are one of the cheapest around without using discount codes. I don’t have time to chase codes, referrals, request price match.

I pay 159.99 for the 10mg.

It’s free delivery while some providers want £5/6/7 for that on top of an expensive medication.

Packaging was great. Box wrapped in plastic to stop dampness then in insulated wool with ice packs in a bag wrapper.

When I asked a question I got a personal response back from a real person not an automated reply.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 29/08/2024 11:32

@Ivytheterrible I know we have chatted about Care before but can I ask a couple more questions please?

  1. What is their initial sign up process?
  2. What is their reordering process? Do you have to complete loads of forms every order etc? (Have to say this side of Voy has made me very lazy!😂)
  3. The dreaded maintenance... I am miles away but really would like to only move once as I’m a massive over thinker and reckon I can't take the stress again! 🤦‍♀️

Have just read a blog about maintenance from the family chemist so they are def on my list

SaulHudsonDavidJones · 29/08/2024 18:00

I went with Care in the end. I'm only on week 1 so don't know about maintenance doses or how follow on goes, but the sign up was easy and delivery was quick. They asked quite a lot of questions and I had to send a full length photo of me holding a piece of paper with the date, and a photo of my ID. They did a follow up phone call about one of my answers (I'm on Sertraline so they were checking how my mental health was). No sharps box though.

terriblyangryattimes · 29/08/2024 18:48

I've just moved from Zava (first two pens - arrived with no wet wipe things and not enough needles - but a weirdly massive sharps bin) to Voy. They were happy to let me move to the next dose up - it arrived today with a little case to stick it in with the needles, and booklet with tips and hints and a reminder to book a session free with a video advisor, which I could book from tomorrow onwards. Will happily stay with them for however long I need to.
I believe I'll have a discount code in my account with Voy if anyone would like it so send a DM of you would happy to share

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 29/08/2024 21:38

@SaulHudsonDavidJones thanks for the info 👍
