Hi, would it be ok to join the gang? Just done 4th dose but only lost a few pounds over the month. Although that includes on holiday so I suppose that’s a win. I’ve only just been able to start exercising again, after gynae surgery too. So hoping to pick up with the new 5mg. Have to say I haven’t really had any side effects so far. Also, v cross about the wasted amount. My shot won’t click again and loads left! Fingers crossed! Thanks for having me, SC x

Welcome! Come and join the July starters as you are at about the same stage as us. I’m just going into week 6. I’ve had side effects this week but ok up to this point!

@scattychicken
There is a “5th dose” in each pen. To extract it you can either try a hard twist or use an insulin needle. There’s lots of info and tips linked at the beginning of all the main continuing Mounjaro threads

@Time4changeagain had tried hard twist but not on insulin so have no needles. Does seem a ridiculous waste when you think what it costs. Can you beat this by doing a bit extra on each weekly shot or does only go up to the restricted amount of doses.

No it only clicks a certain amount so if you did this the 4th dose wouldn’t be a full dose. Hence the hard twist. https://medbasic.co.uk/bd-micro-fine-30g-1ml-syringes-needles

Here is a link from main thread for the needles or you could try a local pharmacy. As you say it’s expensive and using the extra dose each month helps keep costs down
