5 doses in each pen?

Looking for some advice, currently on first month of 2.5mg, due to do final dose tomorrow. Have not really felt the effects the last week, nothing like in the first 2 weeks. So next time I order I would definitely be going for the 5mg

I've read that every pen has a 5th dose for priming, I have checked mine and yes there are definitely two doses left. Has anybody tried double dosing on 4th dose of 2.5mg? Would this essentially just be 1 dose of a 5mg?

Hello and welcome! It sounds like you're on Mounjaro? It wouldn't be recommended to do that as it's designed to take four weeks at 2.5mg to get your body used to it. Then you can increase in your 5th week. But of course it's up to you!

The 5th dose is often a little more than 2.5mg so I did that. It worked out as just over 3mg for me.

That can be a good way to bridge the gap between 2.5mg and 5mg.

Do you just use the fifth dose like you would any other? I'll have to order some needles as I'm with voy so only got the 4.

Definitely use a new needle! And yes, use the 5th dose on the 5th week, don’t double dose 2 doses at once!

I'd definitely do as advised above but rather than getting more of the needles , I'd recommend buying some insulin syringes. You can then draw off your 5th dose and measure it rather than relying on forcing the pen which can go wrong.

Sorry to revive this, I've just done dose 4, and there's definitely enough liquid in the pen for a 5th.

I was given 5 needles by cloud, so can I just do dose 5 as normal, same as the pen method for the first 4?

Or does the pen not work the same for a 5th dose? I've seen people mentioning twisting the pen?

The pen will be hard to twist to “1” for the 5th dose, I use pliers to help me grip it.

I think I'm going to do what the previous poster recommended and buy some insulin needles to draw out the liquid to inject instead of forcing the pen.
