Took too much - help

I was on 7.5mg mounjorno. Hadn’t taken it for a month - family death so i was away from home.

took it today and realsied half way though that I needed to drop the dose back to 2.5.

I probably took about 4mg and am puking for 6 hours. It’s getting worse.

I am sipping water but can’t keep it down

foes anyone know how long this will
last or have advice?

Ring 111 for advice.

SilenceInside · 13/08/2024 22:05

Second the advice to contact 111 and ask for advice, no on here will be able to be more helpful than them.

I landed up being seen and getting an injection in my bum. This is not very nice, it worked but I’m back to vomiting violently every hour. That’s better than the every 10 minutes it was when u got to the hospital.

Sounds bad! Hope you feel better soon. Mounjaro really can cause some horrible symptoms.

Seriestwo · 16/08/2024 12:59

It HAS been bad, I would not recommend making this stupid mistake.

no longer puking or nauseous as long as I stick to plain water and 5 dry branflakes at a time.

I assume the appetite suppression will last the week. I feel terrible, but it’s my own fault.

i don’t know I’d go back on mounjorno. I’ll speak to the pharmacist about whether this is likely to mean I’ll get side effects restarting at a low dose.

I am so annoyed with myself!

Oh OP that's horrendous! Did you use the same pen you had been using before your months break? It seems a very extreme reaction.

Hope you feel better soon.

Seriestwo · 16/08/2024 20:17

Yes, so it was out of date. I feel better tonight, but am trying hard not to think that I have poisoned myself. Which is exactly what I did.

im such an idiot.

NewLifter · 16/08/2024 21:25

Ahhh sorry, yes I was thinking that might might be the issue, more so than the dose 🙈

Are you feeling any better?

Seriestwo · 16/08/2024 22:04

I do. Still sore from the vomiting but I’m not nauseous. I’ll phone the pharmacy, I don’t really want to stop the medication, I still have anout 35lbs to shift.

I don't see why you can't resume when you're better, good luck 💐

mm81736 · 17/08/2024 11:57

It seems a very extreme reaction given that you had been on 7.5 and only took 4.Are you sure the vomiting was not a bug you picked up?

It sounds more likely to be due to using expired medication, it had been 'opened' well beyond the 30 days.

Seriestwo · 17/08/2024 17:17

Yes, I think it was it being out of date.

m I haven’t phoned the pharmacist. Haven’t had the Brian power. Will try on Monday.

don’t be me!

These things happen, just glad you're ok!
