I was worried about side effects before starting Mounjaro because I feared awful smelly farts and galloping diarrhoea at work. But I took the plunge, just before the weekend, just in case. I’m on week 8 of 2.5mg. My effects have been:

Constipation. I take 2 x sachets of Fybogel 1 x am and 1 x pm. I also take 2 x senokot tablets per day. Work in progress, going to start allbran! This one means I don’t stand on scales till I’ve”been” or it’s bad news.

Don’t sleep well. Never do anyway, but deffo worse on Mounjaro. 🤷‍♀️ no solution.

Cold. Feel chillier than normal and v cold feet in bed, jumpers and bed socks if necessary.

15lbs down so far, v happy with this.

nothing else so far. You?

Hello! Helpful thread!

I managed 4 x 2.5mg with no issues, just extreme coldness within 24 hrs of each injection. Also constipation but I managed it with drinking loads and the occasional lactulose

Bonus dose was 3mg and that's when I started with side effects. Painful abdo cramps and terrible diarrhea about 48 hours post injection. Decided to chance 3.75mg the week after, and rather than 5mg, and the same happened again.

Decided to try 3.75mg one more time this week, had loose stools twice post injection - wouldn't quite call it diarrhea - and no abdo pain this time. Had a headache but may be coincidence. Have been tired in the evening but am on holiday and very active everyday.

Not sure yet whether to go back to 2.5 next week or stick with 3.75 as it does appear I'm adjusting to it.

My advice is - if a dose is working, stick with it! 2.5 was fine for me, I only increased because I read so many bought another 2.5 and were stuck with it for a month but it no longer worked for them. I won't make that mistake again!

Drink loads!

Be patient and kind to yourself!

Be really careful what you eat - keep a good record so you know what you can and can't tolerate.
