Hi there. I would like to start on Mounjaro but it’s not available where I live. However, I’m due in the UK soon and if I have it prescribed online would I be able to purchase 3 months worth of injections. One month of each strength up to 7.5mg. Or is it only possible to purchase one pack at a time?

thank you.

As far as I know, you need to be registered with a GP in the UK to get a prescription for MJ from an on-line prescriber, you also need a delivery address. Some companies do 3 pen starter packs but not sure which.

@KrankyKumquat thank you for helping. I have a UK permanent address and I can’t see anything on any of the online sites I’ve looked at where it’s mentioned I need a UK GP. But thats a good point you’ve made and I’ll have another look.

@AnnieMcFanny
It's usually one of the questions in the online consultation - they ask for name and address and consent to notify them.

Are you registered with a UK GP? The prescribers I have used ask for gp details.

Some do "starter" packs, but it will be quite difficult to judge what strengths you need in those first months as you may want to stay on lower doses if it is working for you or if you need more time to adjust to side effects.

Also a few of the providers are having supply chain issues just now, and delivery dates can be unreliable.

Cloud did starter packs of 1-3 months

Zava do starter packs but ask for GP details.

You won't be able to predict what pens you need. You can take a lower dose from any pen though by counting clicks - but this will waste a lot of money as the bigger doses tend to be dearer and you can only use them for 30 days so you would be throwing away any remaining medication.

I'm in that predicament myself as I bought a 5mg pen but haven't yet got to 5mg - have taken 3.75mg twice and struggled with side effects. Was contemplating keeping going until the pen is empty but have since decided against it, mostly because I'm on holiday so my pen isn't in the fridge, but also because it doesn't seem worth the risk!

MJ is a long-term thing - can you return to purchase more?

Hi there, I’m just in to say thank you for taking the time to help me out. I did indeed need to be registered with a GP in the UK and I don’t know why I missed that on all of the webpages I’d been looking at.

Anyhow, I have managed to source it via a neighbouring Gulf State and it’s on its way to me from the UK as I type this.

So just in case anyone is interested I contacted an online pharmacy in Dubai as they were running schemes the way they do in the Uk and I was approved for the drug. I did this on Saturday and I should have the medication on Wednesday.

I paid 1490 Dirhams/319 pounds for a months supply of 2.5mg and it was only when I received the tracking info that I saw the drug is actually being sent from the UK by DHL coldpak.

Im putting the cost behind me as its an investment in my health and Im excited about finishing off a weight loss plan that I started but had to stop when diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. I know I don’t have the mental strength to do it alone again my blood sugar is on the rise despite being a very fit 66 year old who has PT 3 times per week and is busy every day - so Mounjaro it is. I have 15kgs to lose and I’m excited.
