Using 5mg pen to deliver 2.5?? Help pretty please?

I'm now on my third 2.5mg pen and it's working well for me so I think I'll stay on 2.5 for the foreseeable until it doesn't work.

I bought from Zava and bought a 2.5 and a 5 pen for my first order. I'm now not sure if I'll ever want to go to 5 since I'm losing steadily on 2.5. Is there any way I can use my 5 pen to get 2.5? I think it's to do with number of clicks?

Each pen is 60 clicks per dose so it will be 30 clicks from a 5mg pen for a 2.5 dose.

There is a chart on the main continuing Mounjaro thread showing how many clicks from each pen for different doses. Just Incase you want to titrate up slowly

Each pen is 60 clicks for the full dose. Do just 30 clicks and you have 2.5mg dose in your pen.

5mg ➗ by 60 = 0.0833 x by 30 = 2.5mg

My 5mg pen does not have 60 clicks, more like 10 clicks. Very different to what everyone is saying on here

@CT1962 all pens have 60 clicks, it's marked on the barrel as lines as well. You can see the lines and hear the clicks when you turn the barrel from the 0 position to the 1 position to do a normal dose from the pen.

@SilenceInside Thank you for your reply. I've not noticed that many clicks when I inject. 60 are an awful lot. I'm going to try and take half this weekend by working out half the dose which is only a few clicks. Maybe mine is different. Thanks anyway

@CT1962 your pen won't be different, unless it's a counterfeit from a dodgy supplier which I doubt - let's assume you got it from a legitimate source! There is only one manufacturer of Mounjaro, so all the pens are the same no matter which pharmacy you get it from.

60 clicks isn't "an awful lot", it's the normal amount for any dose on any pen. You don't normally notice them because you don't have to count them or pay attention to it when you do a normal dose and just turn the pen from 0 to 1.

Do you want to do a 2.5mg dose from your 5mg pen? If so, you will need to turn the pen for 30 clicks, or 30 of the small lines marked on the pen barrel, rather than turning it all the way to the 1 position.

@silenceinside What I'll do when I get home I'll check it out. I probably didn't realise it. As you say I turn it from 0 to 1 all the time. Yes my pens are not counterfeit, I'm type 2 diabetic and they've been prescribed by my doctor. I find the 5mg quite strong which is what I need but I'm going on holiday and although I won't overeat for sure, if I take the 5mg I'll eat absolutely nothing. Thank you for all your help
