I am greedy ….

I have come to realise that I’m basically just greedy and never hungry. Will mounjaro help with that ? I have read about a million threads now and everyone seems to calorie count quite hard - I thought it’s meant to turn off the eating desire ?

Absolutely it will help. It makes food seem actually unappealing at times. It also makes you picks healthier choices as calorific foods can make you feel quite unwell.

It’s not totally magic, as you do have to exercise some sensible thinking, but I’ve not been calorie counting and I’ve lost a stone in six weeks.

I don't calorie count at all, and I've lost 17lbs in 3 and a bit weeks. I'm not often hungry, smaller amounts make me feel fuller and I'm really not interested in fatty/sugary/carby foods.

Thanks that’s really helpful. How bad have you felt on 2.5? I understand that is not meant to actually do much and only 5 upwards is meant to have “actual” effect?

I haven't felt bad at all! In fact it's been incredibly positive, the mental load that's been removed is just amazing. I don't feel helpless or hopeless about my weight, and lack of "willpower" to address it. I don't even think about snacking, or the foods I used to particularly obsess about. I have a lot of weight to lose, and I used to get very dispirited with how long it might take to make a significant difference. Now I feel optimistic that it's possible and even looking forward to future progress.

Goodness knows if it's a placebo effect, or just the medication alone, but it doesn't actually matter either way. I am due to move to 5mg on Friday, and I am a little concerned about picking up some side effects, but I am hopeful that I won't.

I think the injection helps you stick to a diet/healthy eating plan. you still have to work at it and plaN, but it gives you a bit more willpower to stick to it.

it not a magic bullet, it doesn't dissolve fat, so you have to be in a calorie deficit.

I calorie count and use Voy as its a whole weight lose management plan, a bit like noom but with the addition of meds. you get a real person coach.

I have an intro code @Wingingit11 if you want to give them a try

i'm greedy, you have to look at why? i know its because of trauma as a child and being made to sit at the table for hours on end and forced to eat food i did not like, and being so poor sometimes we only got 1 meal a day! i lost my mum at 16 and never learned about portion control and when she died i vowed i would never starve again and never eat another green vegetable (well any vegetable for that matter).. and no matter how hard i try.. i just can't stop!

BUT i take wegovy and not this drug and all that food noise has disappeared.. i do not think about food, i do not plan meals, i do not snack...

it will never replace the therepy i need and maynbe one day rather than pay for the injections i will pay for therepy but at the moment weight coming off is more important for me

I am 5 days in after my first injection. No side affects at all apart from a decreasing appetite.

I am greedy too @Wingingit11 and I am already eating half of what I would have eaten last week - possibly even less.
