@coffeeandteav oh no. I'm sorry to hear that the effects were so bad. Probably a really good idea going back n down. It's so weird how varying the symptoms can be for each person. I hope you're feeling better on the 5 and still do well on your journey xx

Callmejudith · 20/08/2024 02:37

I pushed my luck on the pre holiday wine last night and am now up vomiting. Urgh!

Oh no! How are you doing now? Are you going to be okay today for setting off?

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 20/08/2024 07:13

7.5 approved by voy, which is great. I also messaged to say that I heard about discounts being applied for users of the app. Lo and behold they knocked £30 off. Don't ask don't get! No one used by referral codes this month so this really helps.

Thanke lovely I’m ok this morning just a bit of a headache. It was puking undigested food which I’ve never had in my life before - so gross.

@Snozzlemaid I love that with the shoes and feel similar

@Callmejudith sorry you had a rough night and hopefully your system settles down soon.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 20/08/2024 10:46

@Sewfrickinamazeballs Glad to hear you got the £30 off! Still very expensive though so I think I will be moving on if my code isn't used this month.

Plan to email a couple of pharmacies to ask about moving to them, what their reordering system is like (I really am NOT up for new photos/long forms etc every time!) and what their maintenance plans are like. I am very excited by the new Oushk maintenance plans but am still a long way away so will wait and see what others do in the meantime.
@Callmejudith travel well xx

Thank you. So far so good one day in. Bit windy though.

@Callmejudith how are you feeling?

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 20/08/2024 18:45

@IReallyNeedThisToWork I've also looked at Oushk. Agree Voy is expensive but like you I just can't be arsed with the admin of switching every month. Last month with Voy I think though and then to Oushk as they are competitive and do maintenance doses.

Anyone else a little concerned about their wedding rings? Mines getting pretty loose, my engagement ring is just spinning on my finger.

Callmejudith · 20/08/2024 18:49

So much better thank you! I was starving this morning.

Are you off on your holidays now?

Glad you are feeling better x

Snozzlemaid · 21/08/2024 10:00

Injection day for me later when we get home.
We've had a couple of days away so eating has not been great. I've not snacked or had ice cream as I usually would but I did have a portion of chips for one lunch and Chinese one evening.
I'll weigh in a day late tomorrow. I'd just gone down into the 15s before we came away so will see if I've crept back up into the 16s again.

coffeeandteav · 21/08/2024 11:21

Discussing Robert Jenerick and ozempic on Jeremy Vine. One guy said just join and gym and have will power.

It's everywhere!

TheShellBeach · 21/08/2024 11:27

Well the good old NHS dietitian has accepted me on to their online weightloss programme, a year after I was referred.

Apparently, the secret is to eat less and move more! I was telling my DD and she wondered why the dietitian hasn't made her fortune, sharing this revolutionary method of getting thinner.
😂

JomonotFomo · 21/08/2024 12:04

@TheShellBeach 😂 honestly it’s shocking what they come out with!

I know I said it on our first thread but it’s like when you have poor sleepers and people helpfully tell you that they’d sleep if you have a good routine… as if it never occurs to you to do that. But your child is actually ASD and ends up needing melatonin, so no number of nice warm baths and stories would have made a difference.

I can absolutely lose weight by eating less (moving more is excellent for lots of reasons but does not cancel out a poor diet) but the food noise is there and it simmers, then bubbles and then eventually explodes and I end up binging.

I wish someone had told us! Couldn't have saved a fortune.

coffeeandteav · 21/08/2024 12:13

Could have!

TempusFuckit · 21/08/2024 12:46

@TheShellBeach The thing that tipped me from asking my GP about weightloss jabs every time I went in to saying sod it, I'm ordering privately was our local weightloss service being cancelled. I'd self-referred, but wasn't told - only found out when I googled it in an idle moment months later.

Although I was quite relieved, as I really wasn't looking forward to inevitably being told that gem of advice haha. And the difference between carbs, fat and protein, sigh.

Fortunately the nurse at my latest check-up was incredibly supportive of my new-found jabbing regime!

Callmejudith · 22/08/2024 06:42

Checking in! Having no food noise on holiday is a revelation! Usually I’d be hoovering up the buffet.

had a v interesting chat with DS14 at dinner last night as he’s been on a health kick for this holiday and said he wants to continue being good and not have loads of fizzy drinks and stuff. The issue is he’s a pretty fussy eater so actually eats hardly anything so isn’t getting nearly enough calories for his body. We were talking about TDEE and if he wants more muscle he has to actually fuel it. He said he’s noticed how I had stopped eating crap and I felt a bit bad that MJ is helping me out there. Sorry not really related but wanted to get it down.

oh and I’m rocking my bikini!

OP posts:
WheresSummer99 · 22/08/2024 07:02

Whooo rocking a bikini is fab not sure I’ve ever managed that I hope you continue to enjoy your holiday @Callmejudith interestingly me eating better has also impacted my younger teen. We’ve always eaten healthy main meals but i had a constant stream of sugary snacks around the house. Both my DDs are slim healthy weights but my youngest has the same pull for sugary things as me. She’s been choosing better options too lately having an ice lolly as pudding rather than high calorie icecream. My eldest trains 15hrs s week in her sport so is solid muscle very fit and consumes a lot of carbs because she needs it and my younger dd sees that but she doesn’t do a fraction of the exercise of the eldest so I have to watch her portion sizes as she used to moan if she had less.

WheresSummer99 · 22/08/2024 09:16

My update I’ve lost 23lbs in just over 9 weeks now at BMI 28. My visceral fat reading is green at 10% on my Renpho scales and subcutaneous fat 20% green. Not sure how accurate the scales are but this is first time in five years owning these scales they have ever been green. I’m still on 3mg using a 5mg pen as that is working well for me with diet and exercise. The weight loss has slowed but I’m happy with 2.3lb per week average over that period. I want this to be maintainable as I had done well previously to hold this weight for five years until perimenopause started kicking my butt hard.

JomonotFomo · 22/08/2024 09:46

@Callmejudith amazing work - a bikini!!! hope the holiday is fab!!!

great work too @WheresSummer99 id love to see some greens!

Im coming to the end of my 2nd 5mg pen and dithering about whether to up to 7.5mg. I’m STILL having sulphur burps and diarrhoea at least once a week, which is obviously unpleasant but manageable during the holidays but my job isn’t one where you can just pop to the loo easily so I am really nervous about going to 7.5 and the side effects increasing again (they have with each increment so far)

However the suppression isn’t as good on 5mg now, not really food noise yet but definitely an ability to snack more! Dinners are still ok portion wise.

So do I buy 7.5 but do 6 instead? Maybe when I do my final 5m I do some extra clicks from the bonus dose?
