Anyone doing this as a couple?

I’ve just ordered my first one. Not told DH yet but he has 3 stone or so to pair and has sleep apnea and high cholesterol
im type 2 diabetic so this could work well for both of us

just wondering if it would be something he could use as well- not sure he’d be up for it but would be great if we could both get healthier and fitter together

be great to hear any stories of couples on this journey together

thank you!

We are! DP has a lot more to lose than me.

How are you finding doing it together? Any tips? ine arrives on Monday or Tuesday so will try it for first couple of weeks I think and then tell DH and see if he wants to give it’ll a go

My DH & I are doing it together too. I asked him upfront what he thought about these injections (after reading these boards thoroughly but before signing up) and when he straight off said ‘I think I’d like to try them’ that was our green light. I got someone to do all my injections, while I feed back all the advice on MN to him - win win 😁

He also has a lot more to lose but we’ve lost the same amount so far - 2 1/2 stone, even though I started a week ahead!

My only tip really is to be upfront about it - so many seem to be doing this secretly from their partners. But I suppose people have their reasons! But I find that having him do this alongside me is really helpful I’m finding and we’re giving each other encouragement and support, so hopefully it would be the same for you.

Thanks @AelitaQueenofMars sounda fab! Congrats to you both on the losses so far- good luck getting to your goal.

I’ll definitely tell him- wanted to see if it worked for me first tbh and if it did then for him to try it after doing his own research and make his own decision. He’d be great at the injections so may well end up telling him once it’s here and asking for his help with mine! Be great if we could both lose weight together and stay focused

good luck!

Dh isn't convinced about it, and generally doesn't like taking any meds (even paracetamol/ibuprofen 🤦🏻‍♀️). I've also put off encouraging him as two pens a month is a lot of money!

I am trying to encourage him to eat better, focus on reducing carbs and better quality protein but he still wants a huge portion of chips/pasta/rice/slices of buttered bread alongside whatever protein and veg we are having. He has a physical job so in better shape/fitter than me, but still obese.

If he was keen to give it a go, we'd find the money.

We’re saving loads of money because neither of us ever wants to eat anything 😂

My DH is the same! Told him yesterday and he said he will support me but it’s not for him.
let’s see how I get on - my results may change his mind!
hoping to join a gym from next week and go swimming together - we did it during covid and it was lovely so hoping we can go together

DP and I are doing it together as well. I started in April, he's just finished his first month. We've both had the same suppression of food noise, which is saving us a FORTUNE on the weekly shop!
