Superdrug dispense error - poor service

Fyi - please check the dosage on your Mounjaro pen. Very irritated last night to go and have my first 7.5mg dose, and release they dispensed a 2.5mg pen (prescription was 7.5mg)

Even more unimpressed when I contacted them this morning - not only did they not seem very worried that they had made an error (would have been far worse if it has been an error the wrong way!)...but then they said they will not issue the correct dose (£215 paid last week) until they receive the old unused pen back in post, AT MY EXPENSE 🙈. So now I need to go and queue in the post office to sort it myself.

First world problems I know but I thought it was poor service. They should be apologising and putting right. It will take a week at least I think to get right dose. So pleased check what you receive via the national distribution hub. Thanks

TBF I don't see why they shouldnt have the incorrect one back first, but that doesn't make it any less annoying!

They shouldn’t accept the 2.5mg back as who’s to say it’s not been tampered with or stored incorrectly so they should dispose of it. I’m surprised they don’t tell you to send a photo as proof and then tell you to dispose of it and send a new one. That’s really poor!

Also, shop around as £215 is very expensive, i paid £114 for my 7.5mg pen via VOY. And tell Superdrug you can get it cheaper!

this will give you £85 off

I would post it back and demand a full refund. If you can afford to go ahead and order elsewhere then do. So you've less if a wait. That's dreadful as it will have been checked by two dispensers!

It is worrying that they are not checking properly. My first superdrug prescription arrived with my name spelled (very) incorrectly on the label. It's concerning that any company selling prescription medications doesn't have and /or enforce appropriate procedures to pick up very basic errors. In most cases it will be no harm done but in some cases it will be very harmful.

I imagine they want it back to dispose of, else the customer would have two products for price of one. They won't re-dispense it.

ebadame · 22/07/2024 17:13

I'd be worried they were going to sell a returned drug product.

Silvesterthecat · 22/07/2024 17:43

@Boopbeepbeepboop most places would tell the customer to dispose of it / keep it and send a replacement. They shouldn’t re sell it!! It’s very shoddy of them to ask for it to be sent back at the customers expense , as if they don’t believe her

I don't believe for one moment they'll re-dispense it. But they'll want it back because people try and scam companies all the time. It's an unfortunate error to have happened but post it back and they'll send the right one.

If you send a photo of the dated prescription label on a 2.5mg box when their records show you ordered a 7.5mg pen that should be sufficient for them to re-prescribe the 7.5mg pen. And you can use the 2,5mg pen to keep taking doses till it arrives.

I would COMPLAIN!

There's a national distribution hub? So all prescribers use the same warehouse and just send their order details in?
