Secret use of Mounjaro, is it possible?

I’ve got my first Mounjaro pen arriving this week.

Have got to the point where I feel uncomfortable all the time, especially in my abdomen, and I have been advised by doctor to lose weight to reverse Fatty Liver.

I don’t really want to tell my husband that I am resorting to help form medication. I will have to say that I have decided to eat very healthily as we are def a bad influence on each other when it comes to food, weeknight wine etc so he’ll immediately notice something is up when I no longer want to dive into a cheeseboard with him.

If it works I think I might feel deceitful claiming I am doing it all via willpower. Am also worried he will think I’m ill! But I’m just embarrassed.

I’ll also need to set alarms to cook for my children as hunger won’t remind me it’s tea time!

Any thoughts on secret vs open use?

So sorry I haven’t trawled through this site….I’ll whip myself later.
Weight loss is easy….eat less calories that you put out.
It’s the will power that’s difficult.
i know….just lost 3 stone

Well done for your weight loss success. I think I can speak for most people on these boards and say that most of us have been there and done that multiple time over the years. Only for it all to creep back on and more.

In 2017 Kings College hospital did a study into the sustainability of weight loss for those suffering from simple obesity who lost weight through diet and exercise.

The results were startling.
Someone starting with a BMi of 30 -34 Chances of getting to a healthy weight was :
Women 1:124
Men 1: 210

For those with morbid obesity (BMI 35+)
Women 1:677
Men 1 : 1290

Of those incredible ‘1’s .. 78% put it all back on in 5 years.

The ignorant trope that fat people just need to eat less and move more just gives away the lack of knowledge the spouter of such nonsense has into the complex disease of obesity, the physiological changes in the obese persons body and the myriad other factors that dictate SUSTAINED weight loss.

I have certainly lost 3-4 stone a hand full of of times. For it all to creep back on. This time I’ve lost nearly 8 stone. Am finally healthy and am happy to use this drug for life to help me remain so.

You could pretend you're going to slimming world each week...explains the weight loss and gives you an evening to yourself 😄

I was skinny/slim in my teens, stayed slim but curvy in my twenties by dieting all the bloody time. Had babies in my thirties and gained four stone each time (despite no booze, obviously, and a super healthy diet). Lost most of it with a huge miserable effort, but never all. Very little time to myself in my forties so stayed a bit overweight. Hit peri menopause then menopause and gained another three stones, becoming obese. Very unhappy and unhealthy. Hated going out. Back went. Feet hurt. Cholesterol up. Blood pressure up. Mounjaro has helped me lose around 3.5 stones, I’m now in the healthy weight range, size 12 and I’m still losing - plan to stabilise in the next few weeks. I came off it due to supply issues/cash flow at one point and started regaining so I’m reconciled to the fact that I will probably need a maintenance dose for years. That’s ok. What I spend is offset by spending less on food and wine. It’s an important investment in my health, self-esteem and wellbeing. I walk faster, my feet don’t hurt, my back doesn’t hurt, blood pressure right down. Best of all, I’m not constantly thinking about food, weight and dieting. Liberation! My clothes look better and I can get on with enjoying life. I don’t tell many people as some of my friends are very judgmental about weight loss medication to the point of being angry about them. I can’t be bothered defending my choices - would rather talk about something else.

I’m sorry that you think I’m an ignorant trope…is trope a noun or adjective?
