Question about 3.75 dose

I’m due to move up to 5mg next week but I’m thinking about doing five weeks of 3.75mg instead. Can you count the 45 clicks every time and get five doses from the pen in the normal way? I’m not clear if I would have to extract the fifth dose by forcing the pen or using a needle to extract it. Also, are there any potential issues with doing this that I may not be considering? I emailed my provider to ask but they didn’t really answer.

Would be grateful if those who have done this could share their experiences!

A usual dose is 60 clicks so there are 240 clicks in a pen before you use any of the "bonus" solution.
If you use 45 clicks each time, you will use 225 clicks for 5 doses meaning that you will still have 15 clicks left plus any "bonus" solution.
Just taking 5 doses and none of the bonus solution means that all of the doses will be done in the 30 days which is the recommended "life" of the pen once it's open (as dose 1 will be day 0, then day 7, 14, day 21 and finally day 28)
So it's not the prescribed way of doing it but it is something you can do and is what I did after initially taking a 5ml dose from a 5ml pen and being really ill so reducing my dose

@thehousewiththesagegreensofa thank you! I won’t be taking any of the bonus dose and don’t want to go beyond the recommended 30 days. I just wasn’t sure if the pen somehow stopped working normally after you’d done four doses, even if they were only 45 clicks rather than 60.

Just awaiting my first 5 mg pen and was interested reading this. I’m a bit dubious of going onto 5 mg and am thinking of doing 4 doses of 3.75 and 1 of 5mg. This suits me as I’m away on holiday and need the pen to last 5 weeks. So
4 weeks doing 45 clicks
1 week doing 60 clicks.
Does this sound feasible.

4 x 60 clicks = 240 clicks in normal pen use

4 x 45 clicks + 1 x 60 clicks = 240 clicks

You will get either option before the pen locks.

Sorry to hop on with what is probably some really dopey questions but there's stuff I really don't understand and I would be grateful for help.

1. I'm just starting out; I didn't know about the 60 clicks thing and on my first attempt I thought I had turned the pen too far because it seemed to be turning 'too much'. I then touched the end of the pen and a load of liquid shot out (maybe 3-4ml?). I panicked and jabbed the rest into my stomach area. That was Friday and I've had no appetite suppression and no side effects at all. Is it likely that I've not had any MJ at all? If so, will I wait till Friday or have another go?

1. O don't understand how people get 'extra' doses out of the pen. If there are 240 clicks in a pen, and a full dose is 60, how do you get the 'fifth' dose?

Thanks in advance, I honestly have read all the stuff the provider has given me, I really want this to work but I don't want to discuss it with anyone IRL and I have found the threads on here really helpful.

Diabetic needle from a medical supplier online allows you to get the golden dose , you inject 0.6ml .
you can get 10 needles for about £6 including postage

@inmyheadimthequeen there’s only about 3ml in the whole pen, so you absolutely haven’t sprayed out that much of the medication. Each dose is only 0.6ml.

Don’t inject again, wait until your next injection is due on Friday, and then do your second injection. Read the paper instruction leaflet again, then follow along step by step with it to do the injection. If you follow the instructions and picture on the leaflet you should be able to successfully inject and be confident that you’ve done it right.

Yes it worked for me. I think if memory serves me well I did 2 months at 4mg before moving up to 5 mg. The highest dose I used was 7.5 and I only did this for one month. I went back to 5 mg and I’m maintaining now on 4 mg every 10 days and plan to reduce my dose. Not sure if I’ll ever come off it as love not thinking about food, less joint pain and being slim for the first time in many many years.
