Starting dose of Mounjaro - food noise still there

I’m on my second week of MJ (2.5mg) and the food noise I’ve read about hasn’t really diminished. I have been making a conscious effort not to eat as much crap but the desire is still there.

Is this the norm with the starting dose in the first few weeks?

I lost 2.5lbs in week 1 and I was disappointed to be honest. I know it’s a starting dose but with a BMI of 38, I thought I would be looking at a bigger loss. I’m already feeling disheartened and just wondered if anyone else has been at this point but continued and seen success longer term?

All very normal. Some people it works immediately. Some it takes more time.

Thank you @Beeble21
I'll stick with it. Maybe I need to wait until I increase to the next dose to feel less bothered about food in general.

It’s quite strange how people are so different.
stick at it!

I think you need to learn/ remind yourself how it works so you can be realistic and kind to yourself!!

You're on a starting dose which you shouldn't expect to 'work'. It's to get your body used to the drug so you can move up slowly to the dose that does 'work'. Yes some people say it works straight off but that's a) not expected and b) probably a large party psychosomatic

Similarly, if you don't feel the appetite suppression and food noise yet then you won't see the weight loss as that's how it works. It doesn't make you lose fat faster or makes you eat less, so then you lose weight.

You're completely right @ImPunbelievable and I need to keep reminding myself that this is starting dose for a reason.

Maybe those who lost bigger numbers in the first couple of weeks made massive changes to their diets as well. I'll admit that I haven't been on a calorie controlled diet these last few weeks although I have eliminated chocolate and a lot of my usual daily processed sugar.

Let's see what the coming weeks bring.

I am on my second week (injected Friday morning) and whilst I had reduced food noise last week its come back again this week - not as bad as it used to be but its there....

How have you found it @WutheringMights ?
I'm day 3 of my first week and definitely have food noises & still hungry. Going to stick at it but wondered how you're getting on if you stuck it out?

I have stuck with it and while I'm 22lb down in 3 months, it's been a bit all over the place. Some weeks I lose nothing and other weeks I lose 3lbs.

I haven't gone above the 5mg dose mainly because of the fatigue but I have two young children so feeling tired is probably not the fault of MJ.

Food noise never really went away although it has decreased. I don't crave sugar anymore so that's a huge help. Am tempted to increase to 7.5mg with my next order because my BMI is still around the 33 mark and I have a long way to go.
