Can I ask about the voy coaching?

Has anyone used this?
Does it cost more?
Was it helpful?
If so how?

Thanks

No extra cost.
I didn't use it because there was a 6 week gap from my purchase to first available coaching date and by then I had stopped due to side effects. I was a bit annoyed because I went with voy because their package sounded more protective and helpful and then it wasn't really. I expect they are overwhelmed with numbers signing up.

I think just bear in mind you might get people being extremely positive about it because they want you to use their voy referral code.
my understanding is they’re relatively competitive if you get the discount from someone using your code but if not then they are a lot more expensive than some other online pharmacies

I've had some contact with the coaching team at Voy via WhatsApp (my preference over video calls). I've found them mildly helpful in terms of thinking about the process, motivations and breaking down your goals into smaller, more manageable achievements. I wouldn't say they've taught me anything I didn't already know on some level but it was probably useful to stop and do the thinking. If I leave them I won't be devastated to lose the coaching but it's a nice little added extra.

I chose voy because of the additional support. I’m a bit nervous about starting and wanted that that reassurance of someone to contact to ask questions. I ordered on Thursday, chose my coach Yvonne who is a qualified nutritionist and had an appoint with her via video call yesterday morning. She’s going to WhatsApp weekly and I can contact her at any time via WhatsApp with any questions etc. The meds arrived today and I’m starting Sunday. I know lots are cheaper but I feel it’s worth the extra money to have that contact. They gave me £30 off a month for the duration for downloading the app which makes it £199.
I obviously have a code below for 50% off if you want to take a look. They have instructional videos etc too and a tracker app. I can’t comment on the Mounjaro yet but have high hopes from the Facebook uk support group 🤞🏼

I am mildly suspicious of this; as I said when I joined in April only 2 coaches were available and there was a 6 week wait for first appointment.

I have no reason to lie….there were two appointments left for yesterday and then a 10 day gap for the next one with my chosen coach. Maybe some coaches have less availability? I did get the days mixed up though for some reason I thought it was Saturday today as I’ve been off all week🤦🏻‍♀️🤣
I’ve posted my appointment below.

Can I ask about the voy coaching?
Whatintheholywoah · 12/07/2024 15:43

Also sounds like they have taken on more coaches as there were around 6 to choose from. Its early days but I’m pretty impressed so far.

I got an appointment with a coach pretty quickly but most of my interaction has been with the bots, to be honest. I haven't really had any burning questions so far. I haven't really had much in the way of side effects either, though it's early days (just started a few days ago).

EBoo80 · 18/12/2024 15:45

I left Voy because while the coaching was okay (I like that sort of thing) the customer service was awful. They took over a week to reply if anything went wrong with pens or app or anything. Not worth it and more important for me to be able to speak to someone quickly if things are going badly.

Vegemite123 · 18/12/2024 16:49

I’ve just cancelled my subscription. I was OK with paying extra for additional support. And of course there are various discount codes (including one when you first try to quit).

it took me a month to get a coach appointment. But that was my tricky availability.

My initial whatssap messages received an AI bot reply. Which annoyed me, as they specifically say on their website that they don’t use AI! My coach checks in with me weekly. But either it’s taken over by AI, or they’re sticking to default cut and paste answers. I don’t really feel listened to.

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 18/12/2024 16:52

My friend is buying from Boots, they have a coaching programme which she is impressed with.

SilenceInside · 18/12/2024 16:57

@MsXmasGGMasterTwat Boots service would have to be utterly amazing to justify paying £219 per pen PLUS another £32 a month for the coaching.

Some of the other providers can do the first pen for around £100 or sometimes less if you have discount codes or links.

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 18/12/2024 17:01

@SilenceInside as I said, she's happy with it, so obviously justifiable/affordable for my friend.

Initially the decision to buy from Boots was due to the fact that she could collect from a pharmacy as she commutes into London and coordinating deliveries seemed tricky.

CiderJabs · 18/12/2024 17:01

@Whatintheholywoah you may have no reason to lie but you have posted your referral code when it's very clear this is no longer acceptable in these threads as there is a specific thread for codes. So excuse my bluntness but I do think you posted just to get your code used.

SilenceInside · 18/12/2024 17:05

To be fair @CiderJabs that was posted in July! I'm not sure if the guidance around posting codes was in place then?

SilenceInside · 18/12/2024 17:07

@MsXmasGGMasterTwat I'm sure it's easily affordable for your friend, but just making the point that Boots are one of the most expensive providers and their coaching package doesn't seem to me to be worth those large additional costs.

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 18/12/2024 17:11

In your opinion @SilenceInside .

What do you want me to say here exactly? I simply have a friend who can clearly afford to buy from Boots for what it offers her, she's pleased that she can speak to/message someone as she needs to and collect her meds from a Boots near her office.

Saving £££ isn't her priority - many others will feel the same as her - others will feel the same as you!

ETA - grown ups make their own choices on what works for them.

SilenceInside · 18/12/2024 17:13

Yes of course it's in my opinion, which is why I said "it seems to me"... I'm not asking for you to respond at all. I'm putting my thoughts across on a discussion forum for anyone that's reading.

SilenceInside · 18/12/2024 17:14

Plus I think it's useful to be clear about the huge price disparity between providers and what they actually supply. There's absolutely no harm in discussing any of that openly.

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 18/12/2024 17:18

Boots is a trusted brand with a high st presence for a lot of people. This factors into any anxiety about taking a drug with potential side effects without GP involvement and with a back up service/ability to contact someone.

Anyone with the internet can arm themselves with facts on pricing.

If I were choosing this drug I would probably choose Boots for the reasons above, and because their pharmacist handles all of my other medications.

It isn't just about pricing for a lot of people.

NoAprilFool · 18/12/2024 17:22

I’ve not found the coaching that helpful so have cancelled and moving to a different supplier.
however, I do recommend them for your first dose - the sharps bin is much smaller and neater than many others and I really like the case for keeping your pen/needles/swabs in
