Starting and holiday

I have a holiday booked in Aug.
I am considering starting mounjaro....

Is it better to wait until after so that I can enjoy food/ drink ?

Or should I just crack on?

On one hand...
Am a bit worried that if I was the type to get horrendous side effects, it might spoil my holiday...

On the other hand.... be nice to drop some weight asap!

WWYD?

Hi. I have a holiday booked the first week of September but I’m starting on Sunday. Delivery is arriving today 🎉
Ive read up on it and skipping one dose is fine and shouldn’t mess anything up so I’m planning to do that. The other option is not to move up a dose just before as your body will be used to the current dose and side effects. So you could do that. I’m hoping to shift a bit of weight before I go 🤣 there are support groups on Facebook, lots don’t have major side effects so I'm really hoping I’m one of the lucky ones. 2.5 and 5mg have minimal side effects anyway as they are to get you used to it.

Who are you ordering with? Im with voy, they are a little bit dearer but I’ve already had a 20 minute video call with a nutritionist that I chose and she (Yvonne) was lovely. They WhatsApp you weekly and you can call them for support and advice any time.

I have a code for 50% off if you’d like to take a look.

I've got a holiday in mid-August too, and I've just done my second injection today. I decided just to get on with it and start, and if I had bad side effects I could choose to stop the injections before the holiday if I needed to.

I haven't had any side effects so far, and I would say that you can still enjoy food and drink, just less of it and in a non-binge manner if that makes sense. Also, I don't feel sad about not being interested in food, it's actually a relief not to be thinking about it.

I would definitely start now. If you get really bad side effects you could consider missing a dose but you might be lucky and get none.

Thinking of holidays before the end of the year, I wonder how well Mounjaro keeps if you travel with it? Say I'm away midweek to midweek and my usual injection day is a Monday, would the does efficiency be compromised if you brought it with you in your luggage? Or is it best just to skip that week?

I was very sick from about 4 days after my first jab. It would have made a holiday a bit grim.

Personally I would skip that week - that's what I'm planning to do when I am away end of August
