Mounjaro. No photo every month.

Hi
I started Mounjaro last Friday and it is going well.
I started with Pharmacy 2 U. I’ve just ordered my second pen (earlier as I’m going on holiday) and they’ve asked for another photo.
I find taking quite traumatic. I was happy to have an initial photo but don’t want to have to take one every month!
Do all companies do this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I didn’t have to send a second photo with Zava.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 06/07/2024 09:39

Thank you. I’ll try them next time.

A photo of what?

hoarahloux · 06/07/2024 12:40

With Lloyds I didn't need a BMI check to order my second pen. I did enter my current weight. I think they do the checks every six months.

A lot of pharmacies are changing their rules now - Oushk have just started asking for regular photos, they weren't fussed before. I wouldn't be surprised if others do too. I also find the photos pretty awful to do so I sympathise!

There are rumours of more stringent regulations still to come (frankly, no bad thing as long as it doesn't go too far and inhibit access for patients who genuinely need the medication).

Dietingfool · 03/12/2024 16:05

Blimey, I’d be staying away from them, who wants to be sending humiliating photos every four weeks.

rumours by whom exactly? If anything they are going to make it more widely avail,

Orangesandlemons77 · 03/12/2024 16:06

Voy asks for a new pic every 6 months, not sure about others.

Dietingfool · 03/12/2024 16:09

Op just put pharmacy 2 u in the bin, if you were obese 4 weeks ago you’re not going to be a healthy weight today, so the request is ludicrous; put them in the bin and deal with a reasonable supplier.

HippoPortlyMouse · 03/12/2024 16:12

@Dietingfool I've seen it talked about a fair bit. Not read anything concrete, hence rumours. (It wouldn't shock me, given some of the criticisms about how easy it is to get hold of if you lie.)

re: Oushk, I don't know if they want monthly photos or not - it might just be every 3 months - but agree it's off putting!

Do you mean folks on social media> it isn’t being talked about by those who make the prescribing rules. Unless you can prove me wrong?

HippoPortlyMouse · 03/12/2024 16:32

@Dietingfool I'm not trying to prove anything. That's why I said rumours - as in, unsubstantiated comments, here and elsewhere. Although having had a very quick Google, it looks like there's something in it:

www.chemistanddruggist.co.uk/CD138489/New-GPhC-weight-loss-regs-Online-patient-forms-must-be-supplemented/

There has been criticism of how easy it is to get this prescribed, how people can lie to get it, etc... these things are true. So if the GPhC wanted more controls I can't imagine it would be a surprise?

But that’s just the pharmacy regulators tightening up the crappy ones at the bottom of the pile in terms of their guidance, I don’t think it says what you think it says?

raspberrymeringue · 03/12/2024 20:25

I'm just about to order my second MJ pen from Oushk. And they want a new photo.

letshavetea · 03/12/2024 20:36

I’ve just ordered my fourth pen from Oushk. They asked for a photo. Last time I was asked was for my first pen.

Redlightbulb · 03/12/2024 22:29

I recently switched to Curate and they are asking for full body photos each month.
I hate having photos taken of myself and find this a bit anxiety inducing.
It is also a hassle. Monthly photos when you have 6 plus stone to lose is a bit OTT in my opinion. I get the need for safety checks but every 3 months would plenty.

Does that go for Oushk too? Oushk does the same now too.

HippoPortlyMouse · 04/12/2024 09:15

@OushkSmoushk yes well, we all know how you feel about Oushk. 😆 But yes, they are asking for new photos - how often I don't know, but if it's with every order I can see it getting pretty tiresome.

For the OP, do you know any suppliers who are less demanding?

@Dietingfool I think you're crediting me with thinking more into this than I am. It's not a topic I'm following closely and I haven't used load of different suppliers so don't really have an idea of who's top/bottom of the pile in terms of crapness.

healthybychristmas · 04/12/2024 18:17

I had to send a full length photo to bolt pharmacy and I've found them very good so far. Each time I order they just ask what my weight is.

Myneeboots · 04/12/2024 19:23

I didn’t need to send a second one with IQ doctor

TheWildRoseBear · 04/12/2024 21:27

Oushk mentioned they will be asking for regular photos - every 3rd month (Hira did say we don’t expect to see big loses every time so it’s not needed every month)
