Pharmacy2U changes

I’ve been buying Mounjaro from Pharmacy2U. My BMI was 31 when I started, is currently 25, I had planned to continue until BMI of 23 as I don’t want to bumble around on the edge of a healthy weight! However I’ve just been to re-order my next month’s and the way it is prescribed has completely changed. I’ve never been asked to send in a photo before, but now they are asking for a full body photo for a re-prescription and saying that they will only prescribed for over a BMI of 27. It seems a bit frustrating that they will get you part way to a target then drop you. Anyone else had something similar happen? Any suggestions for moving forward? I don’t think another pharmacy will take me if I’m now officially at ‘healthy’ BMI. I’d only intended to take one more pen’s worth anyway, but it has definitely helped me and I would like to get to a mid-healthy-weight range before stopping.

I'm also Pharmacy2U and not sure how it's going to work. My BMI is over 27. I assumed the over 27 thing was for new joiners to them (i.e. you might have a BMI of 27 + a health condition) but not certain.

Weightloss20 · 07/07/2024 17:29

Did you find anywhere that doesn't require full length picture? As I am in the same position as you! Wanting to order the next dose up (second pen)

Ineffable23 · 07/07/2024 18:33

I'm away on holiday so putting off ordering the next lot until I will definitely be home to receive it, so I think over the weekend, so no answers yet. I was hoping to do the prescription bit and then order later but it said it will be automatically dispatched once it has been prescribed.

I have used Pharmacy2U since starting Wegovy in Feb. I am on max dose now and under 27 BMI. I just filled the new form out having ticked re order, was very irritated by the photo with ID and full body photo requirement but added them without making any effort to change to the type of clothing they wanted. Prescription was approved. The form is actually less detailed and easier at least. I think the 'reorder' button is probably key. Combined with the fact they want to keep selling the stuff of course.

I used esurgery and they didn’t ask for a photo.

What are the actual photo requirements?? I can’t find any info on the pharmacy 2u website. Don’t want to go sending photos stood in my undies if being clothed is acceptable!!

Carveitup · 26/07/2024 07:55

Follow up - I thought ‘fuck it, I don’t know these people, what have I got to lose by sending in the new skinny me photo?’ So I did, and they didn’t question it they just sent me my next (and last) pen. BMI currently at 24, 2 weeks left and hoping to get to 23 by the end of August.

Aside from the ‘aargh, why do they need to see me?’ bit in the middle, I’ve been very pleased with the whole process. I’m hoping my mindset has changed (I’ve realised just how damaging my snacking and sweets habit was) and although I exercise reasonably well I have Phase 2 of my body transformation planned for the autumn when I’m starting a weights and bodybuilding program. I can’t start it before then because ironically I’m currently busy in different training for an endurance event. The 14kg of lost weight has made a huge difference to my ability to train (and was my primary focus for wanting to lose weight to start with.) I had an ankle injury from years ago which hampered me and which I took a lot of joint supplements for, but I’ve noticed with carrying less weight I don’t need to rely on those so much any more.

I was fully clothed in my training gear, which is skintight.

Thank you for the info & a huge congratulations on your weight loss & fitness determination!! Brilliant stuff

cloudchaos · 28/08/2024 07:51

@Carveitup why was it your last pen? Was this your choice or theirs?

Striving4Better · 28/08/2024 21:20

There were press reports recently criticising online pharmacies for being too liberal in prescribing weight loss injections, not necessarily to people who fit the criteria. So many have tightened the online consultation. I hated taking my photo too, but I did it and moved on. It all worked out.

Because I have reached my target weight, and do not want to be on it long term - my choice. I am weighing weekly now to see how I manage, but my attitude to snacking and portion size has changed massively. I am bobbing around at or just above my goal weight now, but have a week where I am not going to be too bothered by watching my food - I have a big sporting event I am taking part in and the hospitality is very much a part of it. After that is all finished I’m going to try and instil another good habit of weight training. I have not been able to focus on that because of the sport event I’ve been preparing for, but I feel quite encouraged by how I’ve managed to change my approach to food in 5 months, so hopefully the 5 months Oct-Feb will see me get my physical strength and wellbeing sorted out too.

Well done on reaching your goal weight! I wasn't sure if Pharmacy2U were supportive of a maintenance dose, or at least allowing people to taper down!

KatyaYusopov · 05/07/2025 20:44

Absolutely HATE THIS COMPANY. I tried to order and they did the same crap to me I’d gone from 31 to 25.6 and they persecuted me until I gave up. THEN they have had the audacity to hi-jack my OTHER meds at my GP surgery and interfered with a longstanding happy relationship with a pharmacy right downstairs - BUT DENIED ME THE MOUNJARO. I instructed my gp to get my scripts back and here Parmacy 2U is AGAIN writing and badgering me to provide my regular meds AND Mounjaro. I don’t think they know what the hell they are doing. I’m reporting them to the NHS if they try to take over my other meds again. In the meantime, I had no problem getting a prescription for Mounjaro next higher dose from The Weight Clinic in London. They’ve heard all the horror stories. I also got the bs from LEVITY. I took my pictures over and over again and they rejected them until lo and behold, the supplies came in again beginning of June and then they were happy with my pictures. It was a delaying tactic to keep people on the hook until supplies were available. Same BS from Asda.

IntoTheBreech · 05/07/2025 21:22

I was asked for the pictures in right fitting clothes front and side on . Plus hold up a note with the date on. This was first and second time but third time I got it all ready but they just approved it. Bmi was 31 and now 27 . One month 2.5 then 2 at 5. I also get this horrible skin reaction.

Witchyandtwitchy · 06/07/2025 16:30

This is worrying.
I’ve been using them since the start in Sept. Started at BMI 33 now BMI 25.8 and 7lb to go.
I’d like to get a little lower so I have a buffer but then start tapering right down and come off completely in the new year.

I thought they only asked for photos every 6months? Has this now changed?
Are they not helpful if trying to maintain or taper down under BMI 25?

KatyaYusopov · 06/07/2025 18:54

Almost there and no thanks to this company. I tried to get them to help me for 3 weeks before I was going away in June so needed in advance. They had absolutely no interest in what would happen to me half-way through my journey and coming off cold turkey at 10 mg in a foreign country.

KatyaYusopov · 06/07/2025 18:55

Nope! Told me that because I was now at 27 I’d have to get all kinds of tests despite them being the original provider. Now they hound me with spam despite blocking them.

KatyaYusopov · 06/07/2025 19:36

Same here then repeatedly told me my pix weren’t good enough!
