Mounjaro:the maintenance thread

I thought I'd start a thread for those of us starting or edging towards maintenance.

For those of you who wish to continue on a maintenance dose and have questions, there is a sub on Reddit called mounjaro maintenance uk, which discusses the pharmacies open to maintenance doses and those who will drop you the minute you hit a healthy BMI.

I'm now BMI 25 and want to stay on this as long as possible. I still have a bit to go but maintenance is very much on my mind.

@izzy2076 loads of pharmacies now will let you stay on a maintenance dose but really it depends on why you you think you'll even need it in the first place.

for me, i didn't want to lose out on all the progress and so i spoke to my provider (pharmacy prime clinic > https://www.pharmacyprime.com/pages/weight-loss-clinic?referring_page=%2F) and together we decided to allow me to stay on it with regular reviews, whilst also keeping up my healthy habits

I'm at target with a BMI now of 22. I'm with Asda and they are still prescribing to me, but haven't really given me a definitive answer on how long for etc.

I'm also still on 15mg as finding it is less effective now, so am only maintaining rather than losing any more. I was planning to titrate down but actually maybe 15mg is my maintenance dose and I should stick with it, I don't know.

Although it is affordable, I do resent the idea of paying £200 per month for the rest of my life. I often consider at least trying going it alone but worried if I do that I'll then not be eligible to go back on if I start to gain weight.

I use Simple Online Pharmacy and having reached my target weight I’ve just had a convo with one of their prescribers with regard to titrating down. I’m now on Mounjaro 10mg and we discussed reaching a dosage where my weight stabilised, not necessarily stopping completely. She seemed to imply that if we found the sweet spot then I could stay on it indefinitely.

Hi all, I have been on the medication for 6 months and lost 2 stone, the last 8 weeks I have been on 10 mg and maintained. I now want to reduce my dose as I am very exhausted, do you think going to 2.5 mg will be okay ? I have a 10mg pen but did a 2.5mg dose Friday.
The doses I lost on were 2.5 mg and 10mg the ones inbetween hardly worked and I remained on the 2 .5 mg and 10mg the longest. I know they say the min main does is 5mg but I think 2.5 could keep me where I wish to be .

@Tinydancer123What are you actually trying to achieve? Dropping from 10mg to 2.5mg is a massive jump and if you’re still seeking loss, a mistake.

I would suggest making your own new post to ask for advice rather than resurrecting an old one.
