Private prescription and type 2 diabetes

Hi šŸ‘‹

Very new here! I’m trying to get an online pharmacy to prescribe me Mounjaro. I have well managed type 2 diabetes, good bloods never an issue on the way to remission I have a lot of weight to loose and like others have tried everything and spoke to my GP about Mounjaro who was very supportive of me taking it however cannot prescribe it to me. I have tried multiple online pharmacies who won’t prescribe it me because of the type 2 diabetes but I feel like I’ve seen many people online with diabetes taking the medication. Is there somewhere that does prescribe this for type 2 diabetes? I’d be happy to do check ins with them or my GP who would happily support if needs be. I tick each time the type 2 diabetes and it sends it off for review and then gets declined. My BMI is 100% high enough for it and my GP supports me. Felt like I’d found a potential helpful tool and am stuck.

any advice welcomed!

Thank you

Have you tried Voy? I'm in a few Facebook groups and I am sure I have saw posts about them prescribing. (I may be wrong).

A Voy link gets you £85 off first order so will add it incase they are suitable

Pay for a consultation with a Private GP?

It seems a lot of people are turned away by GP, but have more luck with their diabetic nurse. Worth a conversation?

Your GP can prescribe it to you as you're diabetic. Like a pp said try the diabetes nurse at your surgery that's how I got mine.

I think the only way of getting it from NHS for weightloss is through a weightloss management referral and the waiting list for that is quite long, and even then it seems it's a bit of a postcode lottery if they prescribe injections. for diabetes, this would normally be commenced by the diabetes team, but normally only for uncontrolled diabetes, which in your case your well controlled so I can understand why your GPs hands are tied.
The online prescribers that we order from for weight loss are probably reluctant as a diabetic probably would require regular bloods to check your Hba1c levels.
But definately worth trying a few different suppliers especially if you have GP support. Join some of the facebook groups as theres loads of people in similar situations and they may have some advice x

Thanks all! So helpful! Voy approved my order and it’s on the way! Spoke to diabetic nurse but because my diabetes is managed well I’m not eligible on NHS. Just happy that it’s on route. Xx
