Mounjaro 'extra dose'

I've just taken my 4th dose of the first pen.
I extracted the 'extra' dose with an insulin needle, expecting a small amount that I'd just take to top up this last dose, but I've got 0.8ml, which is more than a dose.

Can I put a cap on my insulin needle and keep this in the fridge to take next week?

You will definitely need a new needle for your next injection.

Thank you for your reply @GrimDamnFanjo - can I check, do you mean I should discard the 0.8ml that I extracted into the insulin needle? The cap won't keep it sufficiently sterile in the fridge for a week?

So you have extracted the Mounjaro from the pen into an insulin syringe but only used the needle for that purpose? Personally I think it would be ok back in the fridge for a week but ideally you would have left it in the pen and extracted it when you needed it.

Yes, that's right @RunningAndSinging. I had intended to take it straight away to top up my 4th dose. I hadn't realised how much I was going to get - I was expecting maybe 0.3ml or something. It's my first time doing this - next time I'll definitely leave it in the pen until the following week.
