What are the best but gentle laxatives? I'm taking aloe Vera every day but that isn't making much difference.
Thanks

Coffee works for me (I don't usually drink it though, so if you are normally a coffee drinker then possibly it won't work!)

I don't like coffee, but my morning cup of tea usually helps a bit!

Any other suggestions?

I have powdered plant fibre everyday which helps. That and making sure I stay hydrated.

I take a half a senokot tablet each night before bed for days 2-5 after injecting . It is pretty gentle.

Dulcoease may help as it is a stool softener. You also need plenty of fibre and fluid to keep things moving.
You don't really want stimulant laxatives like senna, Dulcolax, etc as they speed up the bowel and one of the main effects of GLP-1s (and a reason why they work) is slowing it

I eat two kiwis a day to keep me regular. I eat the skin as well

Psylum husks. Fibre tablets. Solgar brand. Keeps me regular

Greentrilby · 18/06/2024 20:39

Another vote for psyllium husk tablets. Was very constipated but tried these and after a couple of days, things had definitely improved.

I swear by Califig syrup, you can buy it in the supermarket. It's very gentle yet effective.

I took lepicol while on injectibles and it worked very well.
