I started on March 15th so it's been 3 months and I've lost 2 and a half stone ish with another 2 stone to go. Never thought I'd get this far because I'm positively ancient now and peri menopause has been kicking me hard

I did 17 lbs on my own and the remainder using 2:5mg of mounjaro - but crucially, all along I have exercised quite a lot - 3 Spin classes a week and 2-3 swimming sessions along with walking and I'm just considering adding in some weights

I've found the consistent exercise the hardest bit tbh. Diet wise, I eat 1400 -1600 calories a day give or take and I try and stick to whole foods where I can

Onwards and downwards!

Do you mind me asking what was your weight to start and weight now.

I'm peri and struggling massively to stick to a diet and thinking of trying weight loss injections. I've got around 2-2 1/2 stone to lose but I'm a bit scared that as my BMI is only 26.7 it's too low for the injections.

ReacherFan · 14/06/2024 20:35

I should also say great effort! Well done!

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 14/06/2024 20:36

Well done. I've just finished 13000 steps and some dance cardio. Your pics have been a great reminder of why I just forced myself.

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 14/06/2024 20:39

Excellent work!

TigerTyger · 14/06/2024 20:41

@ReacherFan ah yes you're too low BMI wise for injections alas! I would LOVE to have your bmi if that's any use whatsoever Grin

My weight on 15th march was 14 stone 12. That first photo is me at 13 stone 12 as I really couldn't bring myself to take a photo at my biggest.

I'm now 11 stone something. Err 11 12 maybe. I try and tot up weight loss at the end of each month as does my head in to see 1 lb up, 1 lb down every day!

That is great progress, well done. I would up the weights though and prioritse protein in your calories to minimise the loss of lean mass. I think when I lost weight around half was lean mass and I wish I had done more weights from the outset now.

socks1107 · 14/06/2024 20:45

Well done!! I have similar photos and it's sooo motivating. You look great

TigerTyger · 14/06/2024 20:46

@Thegreatgiginthesky think that's good advice. I keep thinking about weights and I've got the equivalent of a small gym at my disposal here (all the gear and no idea!) and I've pinpointed some beginner weights exercises

So I'm still procrastinating but I'm aware that women should be lifting relatively heavy - ie not cans of beans

Just wanted to say well done, you’re looking great!

MartyFunkhouser · 14/06/2024 20:51

Well done OP! You look fabulous.

Thegreatgiginthesky · 14/06/2024 20:52

@TigerTyger Caroline Girvan iron programme is a good place to start if you have some dumbbells. If not there is always her calethenitics series, body weight exercises can be surprisingly hard and effective for building muscle.

LightSpeeds · 14/06/2024 21:06

Fabulous! Well done... 👍🏻

TigerTyger · 14/06/2024 21:18

@Thegreatgiginthesky thank you! I'll check that out now and see if it's doable for a weakling. I just want something straightforward that I can follow

Well done you are smashing it!! I highly recommend weights too, we want to be stable as we get older and not end up frail 💪🏼
