As far as I understand it, semaglutide is a cumulative medication, which builds up in increments in your system. Lots of people get appetite suppression from the start as they have low level nausea as their body gets used to the drug. Over time, the side effects wane but the drug has built up so you should have “true” appetite reduction that isn’t just a product of feeling wrecked and sick. So perhaps your body metabolised the Wegovy quite quickly while on holidays, and it’ll take a couple more weeks for it to build up again.
Another thing my doctor told me was that I can’t control how much my body will lose on semaglutide. I might go from 200lbs to 170lbs, and just plateau there. My body doesn’t know that my ideal weight is much lower. At that point, my hunger will come back but - crucially - if I stay on the drug I should not put on more than 3 or 4 pounds. He said the body decides your new set point is 170-173 and will burn off extra calories through raising your metabolism. Unfortunately lots of people don’t know this, and ditch the drug as it has “stopped working”.
So, why am I saying all this? Well, as Wegovy builds up again, it should stop the weight gain. Whether you’ll lose more, I don’t know, but you can only keep taking it and see.
