DP and I can't agree - he wants Enrique Iglesias - Hero and I would like Michael Buble's Everything. Neither of us will budge so are looking for a compromise !

Stereophonics - The first time I saw your face

followed by....

Chas 'n' Dave - In sickness and in Health!!

You could always have both songs?

suwoo · 23/07/2009 21:37

Don't think ours is up many peoples streets

this

bratley · 23/07/2009 21:39

Van Morrison - have I told you lately (that I love you)

And one our first anniversary I found a card with the lyrics on it! How very thoughtful of me

chaosisawayoflife · 24/07/2009 06:16

We're having Al Green, Let's Stay Together. Tomorrow, aarrrgghh!

Astrophe · 24/07/2009 06:33

We had this - cheeeesy...but I love it

Astrophe · 24/07/2009 06:41

IN hindsight, I might have had Phil Collins 'Groovy Kind of Love '

melmog · 24/07/2009 06:49

We didn't have one but a friend of a friend had the theme from home and away.

And that was only because she wasn't allowed to have mistletoe and wine. (It was 2 weeks ago!)

tegan · 24/07/2009 06:55

we had flying swithout wings by westlife and it was the best

Astrophe · 24/07/2009 06:57

lol melmog!

ILovePudding · 24/07/2009 07:08

Songbird - Stevie Nicks version.

Suwoo - your song is right up our street! We danced to it at our wedding too, just not the first song.

swineofthetimes · 24/07/2009 07:11

Have I told you lately by Van the Man.

ElvisLovesEssex · 24/07/2009 07:12

We had The Wonder of You sung by an Elvis impersonator. My sister got married a few years later and had.... The Wonder of You sung by an Elvis impersonator.

We are a very classy family.

littlelozz · 24/07/2009 09:14

we had Amazed by Lonestar - the only song hubby would agree to - infact he might have picked it? Cant remember lol

PoinsettiasScareMe · 24/07/2009 09:29

Hoobastank - The Reason

MadameCastafiore · 24/07/2009 09:31

You're the Love of My Life by Carly Simon.

Was written about her son but the words are veautiful and I dodn't want a cheesy pop song or bloody Van Morrison.

Pinkjenny · 24/07/2009 11:18

We had a song called, 'Always be right there' by Bryan Adams.

Loved it.

NellieTheEllie · 24/07/2009 11:23

it must be love - madness.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 24/07/2009 11:25

Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol.

trellism · 24/07/2009 11:26

My BIL had the Spanish version of "Hero" at his wedding.

He did however load it onto my ipod to play it, so there was an outside chance that their first song would actually have been "Wish" by Nine Inch Nails.

Our first was Mack the Knife, the original German version sung by Lotte Lenya, because our first date had been a trip to the NFT to see the Threepenny Opera.

My mum told me off afterwards for being a smartarse, but I figured you don't have to be slushy at your own wedding.

lambanana · 24/07/2009 11:38

We had Simon and Garfunkel's bridge over troubled water.

Sagacious · 24/07/2009 11:40

Lou Reed.. perfect day

sweetnitanitro · 24/07/2009 11:56

Frank Sinatra- Fly me to the Moon. And then as our last dance we had You Belong to Me by Dino. We love the Rat Pack You could have both, the last dance is just as slushy!

MamaVoo · 24/07/2009 14:46

Nobody Does It Better by Carly Simon. Agree you should have one as your last dance. We had Happy Together by the Turtles. I always hate it when the DJ plays New York New York at the end of weddings.

fatzak · 24/07/2009 14:53

We had "I'm in the mood for love" - the Jools Holland and JK version. The last song we didn't ask for but the DJ played "Don't Marry her ** me " by the Beautiful South!

inthepink · 24/07/2009 14:59

we had Could I have this kiss forever by Enrique and Whitney Houston...the only one we would agree on
