Last-minute bridesmaid dress needed after seamstress disaster, is this suitable?

Help! The wedding is next week and my bridesmaid dress was a disaster. Now urgently trying to find something to wear.

it’s my sister’s wedding and she decided to have the dresses made by a seamstress but mine wasn’t fitted to me (too far away). It was also very late so I received it last week and it doesn’t fit. I knew I would have to get it altered but my seamstress took a look and said there was no chance without completely remaking it from scratch and there wasn’t time or fabric for that.

The bride accepted that but tasked me with finding an alternative and I have a week! Bride said she doesn’t want to help out so I’m on my own.

I’ve ordered some from coast but I’ve tried a few from there and they don’t tend to fit me too well.

The idea was he dresses would be unique but no time for that now! Do you think someone might turn up wearing the same??

i know a lot of people voted for Option 2 ( the one shoulder dress) but it arrived today and was very cheap looking. Thin, plasticky satin that creased easily.

this one was much better quality. Substantial satin, well made, not my dream dress but a fall back option. the chest size was odd (despite checking the sizing) so I’d have to see if the size up fit.

I think that's a beautiful dress, fabric looks lucious. Nothing naff about the straps, means it'll fit well, and no one will notice!

What about this one OP? I think it would be good because it's a similar fabric to the original dress, and the sleeves and neckline are similar too, but it's got a chiffon layer with a higher neckline that makes it a bit different and possibly a bit more MOH:

The first dress was gorgeous with silver shoes and accessories. So what if someone else is wearing it. Bu the time you work that out you will have done the important bits. You'll probably have flowers to hold. They will set you apart from a guest. And you can wear it again.

It’s a very nice, classic dress. If the creasing of satin is a problem (it can be a pain) these are softer fabrics which might flow better and avoid creasing. I think the first would look great with silver sparkly shoes

It needs to be taken up but very elegant and holds in you in the right places. I’m really impressed with the quality of it.

I was very close to choosing it but the first one I linked turned up too.

Not as elegant as the one above but very pretty, and shows off my shoes well. It also matches the other bridesmaids more so maybe more appropriate which is making me sway towards that instead. The plunging neckline is VERY plunging but if we go with that I plan to sew it up to an acceptable plunge.

I was also thinking to ask the local seamstress if she could put a v neckline in the back quickly which matches the other bridesmaids.

Just waiting to hear from the bride and the other bridesmaid to see if her dress was also a disaster and we need to match!

This happened with my sister's dress who was my MOH. We ended up using the top half of her dress (having it made into a top) and buying a skirt which off the top of my head was from Coast. It looked gorgeous in the end and still matched all the colour scheme as we could use top half of dress. Hope you manage to get something sorted☺️

That happened to me but I wasn't mortified. The bride loved it.

As to the navy dress, it's nice but too low cut. If you can't sew, add a sparkly brooch or flower to bring it together.
