Stately home setting Preferably something plain
Definitely not black

at the moment, the bride is between lilac, sage and kind of blush pink.she doesn’t like that rust colour

Depends on the colouring of the bridesmaids but for me personally (pale, blonde hair, yellow toned skin) it would be sage all the way out of those three.

Thanks!

my favourite when there’s lots of bridesmaids is variants on a colour so they all look and feel good and comfortable in a dress of their choosing. I don’t like it when all the “different “ dresses are clearly all from the same company though - it’s too try hard.

if all one colour and style though then sage is a Lovely colour.

of the weddings I’ve been to where they’re all the same, I’ve preferred the neutral colours - a silver / pale blue Ghost dress was probably my favourite.

Sunshineclouds11 · 24/08/2023 21:23

I love neutral tones dresses for bridesmaids!

Okay so. Hear me out…. The best BM dresses I’ve ever seen were antique gold sequin dresses with a dramatic cowl back. They were from TopShop circa 2012. Honestly we all still talk about they. They were gorgeous and sexy and suited all the girls. They were similar to this pic but a less deep back so everyone could wear a decent bra!

Those are stunning dresses!!

The last wedding I was a bridesmaid at we were given a choice of any of the "wedding" colours - a berryish burgundy, a dusky pink or a sagey colour. That was the only criteria - it meant everyone could find a colour that suited them and that everyone could find a dress that suited them.

I think it depends so much on the colouring of the bridesmaids, and how many of them there are, that I don't think there's a universal answer.

Another wedding everyone wore different shades of blues, again meaning they could pick a shade that suited them best.

My bridesmaids 😉

A dark teal colour, in May. Coupled with (predominantly) antique pink roses and other 'English country garden' type flowers of various hues. The only colour that worked for both pale and olive skin; dark hair.

Shemightbeatriphazard · 24/08/2023 21:39

Bright blue works really well if the brides dress is either ‘white white’ or a pale blush.

Does depend on the colouring of the bridesmaids.
As a rule though, I like a stronger colour.
I personally am really not keen on the fashion of silvers and greys.
I don't generally think "wow" with any of the colours you have put in the OP.
But, it depends on the colouring of the BMs - and of course, the style of the dresses.

moomoosaka · 28/08/2023 21:19

I like the ombre look where its like "pink" but everyone is in different pinks.

I'd avoid sage if there are lots of trees in your photos. Otherwise that's quite a nice colour

HelpMeUnpickThis · 28/08/2023 21:20

My colour of course - mint green.

Second this. I liked a champagne colour but when my bestie tried it on she looked like a zombie. It's about dressing the women you've got.

M husbands cousin had 5 bridesmaids and they were all different shades of blue and Green. Same dress just different colours. They were stunning. Pale blue, navy, sage green , mint green and racing green,

116a · 28/08/2023 21:33

Blush / rose gold is what we had :)

Mojodojocasahaus · 28/08/2023 21:40

Mint green with pink roses as a bouquet

Oh , sounds lovely . Reminiscent of apple blossom.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 28/08/2023 21:47

Sage green looks lovely and a soft mid-blue looks nice.

The "choose your own dress" doesn't always work. I went to a wedding where the bridesmaids had been told to choose their own dresses - any dresses - in navy. None of them were the same shade or fabric (or style of course). They were all knee-length dresses and they all had different shoes. I'm afraid it looked a bit of mess.

Halo8 · 28/08/2023 21:49

Different shades of blue to flatter each bridesmaid

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 28/08/2023 21:52

I really regretted not getting sage green for my bridesmaids.

I fell in love with dresses in a shade that reminded me of Thornton's Viennese truffles, but they were really hard to co-ordinate with. Sage green would've been much easier.

Sage green is very now so yes lots of stuff to coordinate

steppemum · 28/08/2023 21:58

it really depends on your bridesmaids.
I look dreadful in lilac.
ok in sage
pink it depends on how pale, pale is horrible on me and darker looks good.

olivehaters · 28/08/2023 22:02

Mine were a Champaign ( kind close to a blush pink) and everyone said how classy they were.
