Ever pretty definitely size up! I'm a 12/14 and fitted in the 16 :) but also look for them through shein. Same dress, half the price!

I've set up our website on "with joy" it was pretty easy to navigate and options to pay for a simple web address. Which I'll do once I'm ready for invites to go out

Thabks @skinnytobe Had a look on shein but the dress they have mostly settled on isn't in there (or amazon). Are they true to their measurements do you know?

Coast and Dune have some nice bridal shoes
I'm struggling at the moment to find shoes that's are comfy enough for the whole afternoon & evening but look pretty

Has anybody any good advice on where to get nice bridal shoes? I know I'm a bit early but I figure this may be the time to get sandals for next year before all the winter stock comes in. My problem is that my fiancé isnt much taller than me so I need heels that are 6.5 or 7cm. All the ones I see are 8 or 9, which actually I love but he doesn't want me towering over him on our wedding day. (On other occasions he don't mind). I've seen nice ones on the Charlotte Mills website but they're expensive, circa £250-300. I'll only pay that if I really have to!

I’m getting custom made bridal converse for the evening dancing. Not sure about during the day yet.

Bluelightbaby · 29/08/2023 00:24

@Elspeth7 i got my bridal shoes from RubyShoo. Small heel and stunning and wow so comfortable as they have memory foam insoles ! And only £65

UnderstatedElegance · 30/08/2023 18:54

Oh gosh, you're all so organised. I've booked nothing yet, only made enquiries and have an excellent wedding planner. Wedding is May 2024. It was October 2024, but we wanted weather to be on our side (not in the uk)

UnderstatedElegance · 30/08/2023 18:55

I have ordered my wedding dress though

Hopinghonestly · 06/09/2023 17:46

March 2024.

Very small. Ceremony in chapel with few people. Then we are heading to a spa weekend with few people. Haha didnt want an official reception type thing. Just wanted to relax and have fun.

No idea for dress though...needs to be a wedding dress that isnt overly formal so no clue what that entails. 🤔

Fizzysister · 12/09/2023 19:14

We brought ours forward to April 24!

Just a sham ceremony (civil partnerhip formation the Weds previous) then party in the local cricket club but still lots to sort 😳

Just posted on style and beauty for dress help!

skinnytobe · 12/09/2023 22:30

My dress has arrived in store already! They predicted feb/march

I'm going to try it on in two weeks. I've panic ordered shoes and a veil to take with me!

Perhaps check in with your venue to see if they recommend any bands or DJs, as someone who gets booked regularly will be because they are reliable and good. Although obviously it will really depend on yor musical taste and the vibe you want for your evening. Wedding Fairs are a great place to listen to local bands / singers.

WeddingDayDanceUK · 28/09/2023 21:06

Every bride needs dancing shoes!!!

JustAnotherManicMomday · 30/09/2023 21:17

Hi all,

Could use a brides opinion on the two dresses attached. Thinking of these for bridesmaids(nieces on both sides). Sleevless for two older ones 10 and 12. Sleeved forflower girls 4 and 6. Weddings fairly small but now thinking about our eldest niece, 18 years old and if should ask her to be maid of honour. Problem then is finding a third dress that is not too expensive and goes with these.

StStephensTower · 15/01/2024 17:12

How are we all getting on?! I feel that suddenly there is loads to sort!
We are faffing with invitations & not sure whether to do online only, paper only or a bit of a mix!

What are you all doing?!

weddingwaiting · 15/01/2024 17:23

@StStephensTower panicking tbh! 10.5 weeks to go for me and we are trying to sort out food with the caterer that meets all our guests dietary requirements(there are loads!). Went for my dress alterations appointment at the weekend. Hen do first weekend of Feb 😱

weddingwaiting · 15/01/2024 17:24

@StStephensTower we just did paper invitations - I worry that people don’t take online as seriously for some reason plus our mums wanted one to keep

bobomomo · 15/01/2024 17:39

Me, booked church and pub, WhatsApp family ... is there anything else you are meant to do so early (autumn wedding)Grin

Dress I think will be off the shelf though I am going to a shop to look tomorrow, if anything would work my dd is around for 24 hours next week so can come over to ok it (she's definitely in charge Smile

StStephensTower · 15/01/2024 17:41

Oh gosh yes, food! Something else to sort! I said to DP last night that eloping was looking more and more attractive by the day 😂

bobomomo · 15/01/2024 17:42

@StStephensTower

Does anyone do paper, that seems a waste of well paper and stamps. I'm doing email, only need the food 7 days ahead so so much time

LiquidGold315 · 15/01/2024 18:00

I just found this thread and I'm panicking! Getting married last week in September and we have nothing booked! Venue is top of the list, weekday wedding so hopefully that works in our favor. We have hookups for catering and entertainment so that's sorted at least along with our guestlist. Small-ish wedding, 40-50 ppl. No bridal party to worry about either.

weddingwaiting · 15/01/2024 18:11

@StStephensTower its proving to be a nightmare. We have 3x vegan, 3 GF and 3 Vegetarian and a nut allergy. I’m currently trying to negotiate how do organise our hot folk buffet without paying an extra £6 per head to upgrade the whole thing to give more choices.

We are supposed to get two main dishes and a bunch of other stuff and sides but I don’t want an even split of the normal dish and the vegan/gf dish because far more people will want the normal dinner and I don’t want people lumbered with the free from one because they got there last. What I want is my two normal choices (one can be gf naturally) and a very tiny vegan lasagne or something and then the rest of the buffet stays the same (there is a mixture of salads, cold buffet items, rice, veg and potatoes). Waiting to see what they can do🤞🏻

Weeteeny · 19/01/2024 22:08

Dec 2024, accommodation booked . Flights will be booked as soon as airlines release dates, hopefully 6 weeks ish.
Venue agreed for both ceremony and meal. We will have stress of marriage license as it is only valid for 4 months and this is needed to confirm ceremony slot at the city hall. Though we have contacted the City hall and there confident all will be fine providing we get our paperwork correct.

There will be 7 of us including bride and groom and our children who are age range 17 to 22.
We can't wait as it will be christmassy and magical.

I have possibly identified my dress ☺

Haylestormz · 28/01/2024 21:33

Those who are getting married early half of 2024 have you chosen first dance song yet?

mitogoshi · 01/02/2024 16:53

Oct 24. Church and reception venue booked but very laid back affair. Still trying to decide whether to buy a "proper" dress, probably could do with finding someone to go shopping with - don't have my DD's or dm locally and my friends are spread across the world.
