To worry my wedding will be cancelled (Queen's health)

I have just seen the upsetting news about the Queen under medical supervision and as the family are travelling to be with her it looks like it could be bad news.

I have a small registry office wedding ceremony booked on Wednesday 21st September, just wondering in case anything happens, does anyone know if registry office services would be cancelled to accommodate the funeral or the mourning period?

@Drunkencrow if the funeral is that day, traffic might be bad / roads closed.

I hope all these posters weddings and DDs / DSs weddings go ahead as planned. Especially after so much uncertainty the past few years and postponements. I’m sure all guests would still go and get stuck in!

There’ll be a funeral procession in central London with road closures so depending on where the wedding is I’d plan for travel disruption that whole weekend

Thanks all for your responses! A lot of the press are reporting 19th for the funeral so I'm hoping my wedding will go ahead without any hiccups 😊

I really hope your wedding gets to go ahead op. Of course you are worried about it- it’s your wedding, not sure why some posters think that’s so shocking. I would be exactly the same. I am wondering when they will announce the funeral date because people will need to make arrangements if it affects them in any way. Hopefully it will be the Monday

So the queens funeral has landed on my wedding day 19th. It’s a small registry office. I know you’ve had a few comments (some more helpful than others)

Just wondered if there was any helpful info you could pass onto me?

I should be hearing back tomorrow from the Reg office but I’m obviously worried and lacking patience at the moment.

I think it depends if your registry office normally does bank holiday weddings? Also the timing. They might close during the funeral but he doing services either side.

Oh @Oliveroliviaolive that's crap for you. Unless your registry office does weddings on bank holidays, then I'm sure yours will be closed.

Where is your reception? Any chance they could marry you there instead? Is that venue staying open?

@Oliveroliviaolive That's ashame 😔my registry office is closed on bank holidays but I'm not sure about others. I think it would be terrible to cancel at such short notice when people have planned and prepared for a long time as other bank holidays are known and this was sprung upon us! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
