Engagement rings

Hi all,
I need a bit of help! My partner has asked me to marry him and I'm getting my ring on Saturday. I can have up to 1 carat diamond ring. But he has stated that 1 carat is going to be too heavy for me to wear every day? If I want 1 carat I'll only be able to wear it on special occasions etc. Can any one advise on the perfect size because obviously I want to show it off and wear it every single day! I want some thing that is going to be comfortable and not something that I'll constantly be having to take off and put back on!

All I'd say is do your research. Look at the qualities that make a good diamond and try to buy from an independent jeweller rather than the high street.

I have an antique ring from around 1935 and I love that it's probably unique. I also got a much better quality ring for my money than if I'd bought from a high street jeweller.
