Juat that really. I had a dress, a beautiful silk one, but my boobs wont cooperate. It wasnt a proper wedding dress just an off white dress i had loved and worn once.
So now, i need a dress, im not a dress person. Would like something i could wear again, under £100. Idealy a plain solid colour, no patterns. Doesnt even have to be white. I have been searching the net with no luck.
I have broad shoulders? And a huge chest. We have decided to keep qiite about it untill we send invites out and even if people knew, i dont really have anyone to go dress shopping with. Apart from my mum.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im sorry about the typos, i have nail extensions on atm that make it difficult to type.

I have decided to take the multiway of the list. Rang bravissimo and they have the dress in store so will pop in next week and try it on. Will go to debenhams and have a look in around.

OH thinks im getting worried for no reason " we have just under 10 weeks left.... thats ages" i feel 10 weeks isnt that long. Especially if you factor in any alterations.

I have the pink asos one for my wedding. Love it.

DBoo · 12/03/2018 07:08

Thank you Enrique I'll pass it on to a friend. Seems more legit if they have stores which I had seen on the site. We're up in the north east so none nearby unfortunately but she might be happier to risk ordering knowing that.

I think you have made the right choice about the multiway OP. Gorgeous colour but in my quest to help my bride I have Googled and googled and those are really popular at the moment but don't seem to do anyone justice. The material is quite cheap looking from what I've seen.

Don't know if you're open to it but just a thought - have you looked at tops and skirts? Monsoon or coast do some amazing beaded tops with full skirts which are different yet stunning and in the right colours could easily be worn again.

This kind of thing

Some beautiful dresses here and here I especially love this one!

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 13/03/2018 07:56

I love the idea of a top and skirt. That would well since my body is such an awkward shape. May take me over budget though. I alao love the one in the third link from sweetheart.

Im going to ask a colleage if she could alter my original dress at all. If that fails im heading into town. Thank you all for your help.

Forgot to add, both asos dresses arrived yesterday, the lace back one was lovely. But couldnt wear
It with a supportive bra. The other, was just all wrong thanks to the boobs. Made me look huge.

Coast do a lot of the two pieces and I think ASOS do too although if your original can be altered even better.

Good luck. Would love to see what you end up with.

What about Vivian of Holloway? I am a similar shape to you and their halterneck dresses are so flattering.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 13/03/2018 09:29

Hey I am a similar size to you and I have an exquisite Caroline castigliano wedding dress I would happily sell you for say £90.
It's a separate skirt and corseted bodice (lots of support for big boobs and sucks any tummy bumps brilliantly!).

PM me if you're in any way interested and I will find pics for you xx

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 15/03/2018 13:43

What does everyone think of this? I like the colour, it is similar to what a bride would traditionally wear
In my culture, but is something i could wear again.
I always wear black so not sure if it looks ok.
I need honest opinions please.

I like the colour!

twinkledag · 15/03/2018 14:20

It looks nice on you and I really like the colour.

Merryhobnobs · 15/03/2018 14:28

I had this dress:

www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/dresses-5699972/wedding-dresses-6355641/bridal-juliet-maxi-dress-6845942?bi=0&ps=20

I have a large chest and at the time was 3 months pregnant (but have a tummy usually anyway). The dress was a dream. Very comfortable and flattering on the chest. I'm planning to get it altered - made shorter and dyed another colour so I can wear it again. I think it will be altered fairly easily as well. Lots of people commented on how lovely it was and I was delighted £85 :D

Honestly, I don't think it is particularly flattering. Fab colour though.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 15/03/2018 14:55

The colour looks good on you. Personally I'm not so fond of the dress, mainly because I'm not a fan of the all over lace style, but I'm not sure it makes the best of your shape. Sorry.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 15/03/2018 16:28

Thank you all. I wanted honest answers. I really liked this one. It looks much better in rl, it
Pulls me in a bit. I didnt like the lace all over but liked the neck. I had no idea how to hold my phone. Im going to try it on again. With shoes and get OH to take a picture.

Also tried on the bravissimo one. Which was awful, just stuck to all the lumps and bumps. Even with them huge pants on. Also the cross over at the front made my chest look huge.

David's Bridal is real! Went there this week, was good actually.

Laurel543 · 15/03/2018 23:27

I am almost exactly the same size snd shape as you and find the most flattering dresses are long jersey ones with clever draping to disguise a big chest and skin over a wobbly tum. Phase Eight do quite a few in this style.

I bought this dress. Worn with high heels (I wore elegant wedges for stability) it is incredibly flattering and I get loads of compliments Wink

Congratulations on your wedding!!

'Skim' not 'skin'!

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 23/03/2018 08:56

I am a similar shape to you and I suit Vivienne Westwood dresses. They are realky flattering. This would look amazing with your colouring: www.viviennewestwood.com/en/womens/clothing/dresses/vian-dress-red-red-1601000610281H401.html?cgid=women-clothing-dresses#page=1&start=2

I know it is over budget but you can often get VW reduced online.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 30/03/2018 18:45

Thank you all. I ended up going with a blush pink dress. Liked it so much bought it in blue too. I feel very " swishey" in it. Its casual enough for me to wear again but can be jazzed up for the wedding. So thank you all for all your help.
