Because I can't find the bloomin' Weddings topic!
I'm getting married sometime next year and I have no idea how much anything costs.
So go on how much was yours? Grin

Mine was £150 (plus £70 alterations) from a proper wedding shop. It was in a sale and they were lovely! I was pregnant so they kept a last minute emergency fitting available just in case :-)

Hairtodayandgonetomorrow · 21/08/2012 18:13

(2 1/2 years ago)

fishybits · 21/08/2012 18:15

£2200, couture and I felt beautiful wearing it. It was designed so that I can shorten it and dye it another colour but I can't decide what colour so it'll stay in the wardrobe till I make my mind up Blush

nickiminja · 21/08/2012 18:17

£30 for some gold silk for my mum to make into a skirt and a jacket made from red silk (free) that my mum had in her box for 30 years previously

ColourMeWithChaos · 21/08/2012 18:18

Ambrosius it was perfect!

Also meant I could have a much nicer dress than I ever could have afforded otherwise.

Enjoy the dress shopping experience - I tried a lot on to see what I liked and what suited me and it was so much fun!

GragPop · 21/08/2012 18:19

About £40, was just a normal cream coloured dress.

broadsheetbabe · 21/08/2012 18:20

Mine cost $12 at the Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro, Alabama.

VivaLeBeaver · 21/08/2012 18:20

£20 from Debut in Debenhams. Was a cream fitted long ball gown.

Should have been £80, the lovely sales assistant told me to wait 2 days as the big sale was starting. She put it to one side for me, was reduced to £40.

I got it home and found a tiny mark on the back, they knocked another £20 off it when I went back moaning. The mark sponged off fine.

Chandon · 21/08/2012 18:21

£800, hand made and designed by Claudine Dolamore in London, after my specific requests. Silk too. Loved it.

FrankelSaysRelax · 21/08/2012 18:23

£711 for this dress. I felt a million dollars so worth every penny.

BarredfromhavingStella · 21/08/2012 18:26

Yes Ambrosius Go for it!! Seriously, Cuba is an absolutely gorgeous place with fabulous people-we stayed at Cayo Guillermo which is less touristy than Varadero-Make sure you visit Havana & Club Tropicana is an absolute must!!!

joanofarchitrave · 21/08/2012 18:26

Outfit 1 - £250, dark slate velvet suit.
Outfit 2 - £600, local dressmaker, embroidered silk and satin and just lovely.

If there were a number 3 (which the Lord forbid) I would have a look at Monsoon first and then try second hand, starting with Oxfam Bridal and working ebaywards. The trouble with Debenhams is the fabrics were a bit urgh when I looked at them.

Fleurdebleurgh · 21/08/2012 18:26

£40 for a maternity bridal dress from Monsoon in 2006.
£2 for flipflops, as at 28 weeks pregnant i couldnt wear anything else!

CakeBump · 21/08/2012 18:27

over 2000 pounds including alterations, this year.

I love it and felt so special in it. I didn't set out to spend a lot, just fell in love with it!

ILiveInAPineapple · 21/08/2012 18:29

Dress was about £200, nets for underneath were about £70, veil was £30, tiara was £40 and shoes were £40.
This was in 2003.

My mum did the alterations to my dress because I'm short but that involved unpicking the dress at the waist to take it up because it had a scalloped embroidered edge at the bottom!

flixy102 · 21/08/2012 18:32

£1095 just last year, excluding veil or alterations. A Justin Alexander design.

Ridiculous amount of money but my granny paid for it and unfortunately she died a few months before the wedding so it was very special as it felt like a wee part of her was there and I'll never part with it.

HorseyGirl1 · 21/08/2012 18:35

£100 from Cancer Research. EX shop sample so all I had to do was get it cleaned and altered lengthwise. 3 years ago. Still regularly see new unaltered wedding dresses in this shop so a local bridal shop must send in their old samples to it. Have fun trying on the dresses no matter what you decide to do. xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 21/08/2012 18:36

Mine was hand made/designed and cost £3k for the ill fated marriage to XH, My Jewellery was all Tiffany and cost around £2k Shoes were £1k. My Tiara was a gift from a friend and was about £1k

When DP and I get married I would happily spend the same for an Art Deco inspired dress.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 21/08/2012 18:36

£180 in 1987, including veil and headdress

stargirl1701 · 21/08/2012 18:38

£1500 last year. Plus fitting costs.

I looked amazing! (just for one day Grin)

DorisIsWaiting · 21/08/2012 18:38

£400 in the sale in 2005 (it was cheap compared to a lot but it was still a huge amount of money for a dress I have worn once) I hindsight I'd have been better off on ebay.

SorryItsNotFriday · 21/08/2012 18:39

£1200 but I bought it second hand - it was £4300 new!! For a dress - mad!!

winkle2 · 21/08/2012 18:42

£825. It's by Ronald Joyce.

Then £225 for a veil - cathedral length with sparkles!

My tiara cost me £60 and I've never worn it since!

This was last year.

LynetteScavo · 21/08/2012 18:44

I have no idea. It was hand made. My mother paid, and wouldn't let me know how much it cost.

Tartymuffin · 21/08/2012 18:45

With alterations - just over £1000 (but it was reduced by 25% in the sale so a BARGAIN lol!)

Then add £40 for shoes, £50 for tiara, and (!) £150 for a veil - I know that's obscene for a bit of net with crystals on but I HAD to have it. It ended up being shipped in from Canada and it got held up in customs - the Thursday before my wedding it was still there, it finally arrived the afternoon before. Phew!
