Because I can't find the bloomin' Weddings topic!
I'm getting married sometime next year and I have no idea how much anything costs.
So go on how much was yours? Grin

Just about to order mine....£1200 Justin Alexander dress.

Make sure you pay by credit card to protect your purchase

LittleMoo6 · 21/08/2012 16:51

Mine was £49 from TK Maxx! I chose an evening dress style as I was getting married abroad though.

OvO · 21/08/2012 16:52

£12. It was a red dress bought in the January sales from Dorothy Prkins! Still wear it now.

Ephiny · 21/08/2012 16:52

£140 from Coast, not a traditional wedding gown though.

theoriginalandbestrookie · 21/08/2012 16:54

BeaWheesht - I hope you had better service than myself !

I did love the dress though Maggie Sottero, even though they gave me the non matching wrap it was my mum that noticed not myself.

oneofthosedays · 21/08/2012 16:55

Mine was £80 off ebay, sold it for £30 after the wedding, think it was mori lee.

Wigglewoo · 21/08/2012 16:55

£150 from house of fraser and I was 24 weeks pregnant :)

I nearly brought one for £1700 the week before but wasn't too sure and then saw the hof one and loved it :)

For my first wedding (aherm) I hired one for £250 which was worth £2500 but my hof dress walked all over that one :)

reddaisy · 21/08/2012 16:56

£85 for a normal lovely dress from Monsoon. My bridesmaids dresses cost more than mine did!

EasilyBored · 21/08/2012 16:56

About £1500 including alterations, 4 years ago. That was with a student discount. Is a stupid amount of money to spend on a dress I've worn once, but I loved it.

ViviPru · 21/08/2012 16:57

Butternut which one?

Nagoo · 21/08/2012 16:58

£89. Debenhams sale. 4 years ago.

RubberBullets · 21/08/2012 16:58

£900 last year, they gave me the veil for free and knocked £85 off the tiara. They also gave me a bottle of bubbly when I collected the dress but I don't drink

Sparkles23 · 21/08/2012 16:59

Mine was £1,600-Maggie Sottero, 4 years ago, it was beautiful!

ShoeJunkie · 21/08/2012 16:59

£100 from debenhams - it was my favourite of all the (about 20) that I tried on that day.

MrsPresley · 21/08/2012 17:00

55 pounds (half price sale back in 1982)

My daughters dress was just short of 2500 pounds in 2007.

gabbymum · 21/08/2012 17:01

About three grand - it was awesome and I felt a million dollars in it! I had a lot more dosh in those days (2005) - no kids, fab job etc so I really went for it and bought a couture number.

Fast forward seven years, two kids and a mortgage - I'll never spend that amount on a piece of clothing again but I'm glad I did. Those were the days when it was all about me me me - once you've had kids, it becomes all about them and rightly so.

rainonmyparade · 21/08/2012 17:03

£1500 in 1997. Ridiculous. Veil and attached head-dress was £250. Shock What was I thinking? Much less would have done.

AdoraBell · 21/08/2012 17:04

Mine was about £200, 14 years ago. officially it was listed as a bridesmaids dress though. I couldn't wear a meringue, and decided to have a strong colour.

StaceeJaxx · 21/08/2012 17:04

£40 in 1999, from a little boutique next door to where I worked.

lovintheolives · 21/08/2012 17:06

£1250 in 2006 (+ alterations)....i realise now that it was a bit extravagant but it was beautiful and i felt amazing in it! my sister however, bought hers for £60(ish) off ebay, an english lady living in china who makes them to measure! def worth a look! x

justtryingtodomybest · 21/08/2012 17:06

Just under £1000 last year. I totally loved the dress and would still wear it now to do the hoovering (if I could fit into it!)

MrsKeithRichards · 21/08/2012 17:06

Also had bad Emma Roy experience and paid £120 for ny dress brand new made to measure from eBay.

lisaro · 21/08/2012 17:07

Over 600 pounds in 1988. I'm now divorced. The dress was taken apart and the silk re-made into a bridesmaid dress, bag and wrap for my then little niece in 1992. It's been a bridesmaid dress (with different sashes) about 5 times and a First Holy Communion dress as well, simply because it was so beautifully re done.. Bit of a fave among the younger family members.

Vaginald · 21/08/2012 17:08

The one I tried in the wedding shop was £2500, the old season-version of it I purchased from eBay was £125!!! The thought still makes me smile!

Bingdweller · 21/08/2012 17:08

Aaaah, Emma Roy, the place of absolute cowbag staff. I went for a browse and never went back, horrid staff.

The exact same dress cost £400 cheaper in another out of town shop.
