Who knows....
Lifted index looks goodish for EA and SE according to gfs (lifted index is one way of looking how unstable the atmosphere is)

The honest reality is though that I have no idea where any storms will form, but if I figure it out I'll let you know.....

The other unknown is how far cooler air will actually penetrate. It looks like the south won't really cool down much at all. (apart from far SW)

Hot Saturday coming up! 30C in places.

Its tricky round your area at the moment - its being sideswipped by low pressures. I'm fairly sure that the high pressure will re-establish its hold again though.

nymph = your region might get a reasonablish top up tonight. not enough to fill reservoirs but enough to water the garden.

I think its going to be quite tricky for the nw and scotland over the next few days in terms of predictions. the models seem to be not that certain how far the lows off the west coast will come inland. Friday actually looks potentially quite potent for that area now with strong winds possible. Much uncertainty though.

Come on then weatherkitty, I'm in Somerset, will i need to water my pots tonight?

nymphadora · 28/06/2010 16:13

Oh & the new water butt is still in dh car!

mankyscotslass · 28/06/2010 19:20

We had a light shower go over just about 30 minutes ago, not enough to help the garden, so it's out with the watering cans!

It's a bit cooler, but nit much. The house is still like a sauna.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/06/2010 20:17

close orm..... I would as the nature of showers is to always do the opposite of what you want.

28C in here. Good job I like it warm!

OrmRenewed · 28/06/2010 21:18

We had a few big drops out of a black sky. And then it stopped.

Still hot and sticky.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/06/2010 21:41

Heavy rain overnight too, still a bit drizzly this morning, but I sent the kids to school with suncream because it might clear up....they put it on under protest!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/06/2010 13:22

We had rain this am. Was quite surprised at its intensity.

Sun back here. Doubt we've had enough to fill much up.

Talk loacally of using Ennerdale which used to be reservoir but now is 'emergency ' one AFAIK

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/06/2010 20:14

Does it have water in it?
