I feel really remiss not to have noticed how bad things are becoming in Scotland. I must apologise to you all up there. i see that in some parts there have been exceptional amounts even for those of you who are more used to it. Will go and have a look at the situation.

Still snowing.

And guess what the forecast is for today?

Yup, more snow!

mozette · 26/02/2010 07:09

Its yucky really wet snow here in Stirling and is meant to snow more today.

Wallace · 26/02/2010 07:09

And my dh needs to get South today, but I think the North of Scotland is pretty much cut off.

mozette · 26/02/2010 07:19

I think one of my text alerts yesterday from Stirling Council said the A9 was still closed Wallace. It could be open now mind you.

Wallace · 26/02/2010 07:28

Still closed I think. He might be able to go round via aberdeen way. I think the road that way is now open and "passable with care"

Luckily he has a four wheel drive!

mozette · 26/02/2010 07:30

hope he has a safe journey Wallace.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2010 07:42

updated warnings continuing to be a severe situation.

Snowing still/again - not entirely sure if it ever stopped really!

Power keeps cutting out too.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2010 12:35

Hope you've got candles and stuff bum?

OP posts:
Bumnoise · 26/02/2010 12:48

Nope gloriously unprepared

Hasn't pissed about since this morning so fingers crossed they fixed whatever it was, I heard a load of power lines came down across the A9 which is probably what it was.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2010 19:23

How are you all doing up there now - do we need to send out St Bernards with barrels of brandy to rescue you?

OP posts:
Wallace · 26/02/2010 19:24

Has stopped now and is getting colder.

A9 is open and dh has gone South

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/02/2010 19:26

fluffles · 26/02/2010 19:38

anybody know if i'm going to be able to drive to comrie/crieff from edinburgh (via perth) tomorrow lunchtime???

Linnet · 26/02/2010 23:17

Fluffles, I think the Crieff road is ok now, double check the traffic reports tomorrow though as we're supposed to get snow through the night tonight.

Wallace · 27/02/2010 06:49

Dh had a safe journey but the snow followed him South

fluffles - do you use the www.trafficscotland.org/ website?

Probably more branches and trees down - there wasstill a lot hanging off ready to fall after the last heavy snow. Our remaining gutter is ready to fall too.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/02/2010 08:49

Poor gutter. When we had our heavy snow earlier in the year I was overawed with how destructive snow can be. I've seen far more trees and branches down from that event than I have from any wind storm.

Weather looking much less fierce for you all today, good smattering of snow showers, some heavy but not that prolonged intense stuff.

OP posts:
fluffles · 27/02/2010 19:04

we didn't go today - i do use traffic scotland but i find it only lists actual road closures or queues, and sometimes doens't mention some roads that are in my opinion barely passable.
