Noooooo - I can't bear the thought of another day with the DC not able to go to school

Peachy · 17/01/2010 17:24

I quit like them not going toschool, that bit is fine

What I don't like is the fact its due to start at ten so DS3 will be in schooland need picking up before our village snows up (10km trek ocross busy mway junctions and country lanes), DH isn't in college until 12 though so aslong as it starts on timewe won't have the SMART-Mitsubishi dilemma (DH'sUni in valleys- needs the M on snow days- SMART not big enough for me to use to fetch ds3 from SNU with ds4.....)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 17/01/2010 17:50

Peachy - it can't really be timed so precisely, especially not a few days in advance!

This is a rain turning to snow situation so it depends on:
-timing of rain moving across
-timing of cold air
-how heavy the rain is.

Am as have just seen the BBC weather forecast for Wednesday ...!

It looks as if London might escape, but who knows?

Peachy · 17/01/2010 18:41

Oh I know BK LOL, Just wishing....... would make things so much easier.

DH ahs a guest lecturer coming in that day, hope he has the sense not to travel from London

threetimemummy · 17/01/2010 19:51

Waaaah

Seemed ODD

Rockbird · 17/01/2010 20:07

My BBC forecast says heavy snow Wednesday (Surrey). The last two Wednesdays it's snowed heavily here, meaning SIL and I haven't been able to get to our diet class and consequently, the diets haven't started yet. It was a bit of a giggle at first but it's getting embarrassing now. They'll think we're not coming back!

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 17/01/2010 20:36

mp - agree! was very peculiar.

looked at the forecast and the temps on Thursday and Friday are pretty high, so even if we do have snow it won't stick around.

HURRAH!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2010 09:30

see thread discussing weeks weather for my thoughts on Wednesday.

abride · 18/01/2010 09:53

My poor, poor son has been LONGING to play the first soccer match of the year at school. And most of them are on Wednesdays.

Riven - have you looked at my thread? I think conditions for snow are looking very marginal on Wednesday. Unless things change back the other way, I think that most will just see a wintery mix with only higher ground looking like snow. I could be wrong of course and things might change, but thats they way it looks to me.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 18/01/2010 11:41

Damn it I want snow!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2010 11:43

lol!!! time for things to swing back the other way still. Its a really hard situation to call - right on the edge.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2010 13:01

as I said on t'other thread, met office still seem to think that the possibility remains, so don't breathe a sigh of relief just cos I'm not convinced, they have rather more expertise

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/01/2010 09:29

my updated thoughts which to summarise says that I may have been a little pessimistic over potential snow tomorrow but it is still a very marginal situation for most. see thread for details!
