We're under an amber weather warning for rain. (West Mids)
How are the roads and rivers near you?

It was not as wet on the roads this morning as I expected. Often there are puddles right across the carriageway of the "fast" lane. Not looking forward to it tonight though, for the return journey, as it will be dark as well.

Wales are predicted up to 150 mm rain in places, not the usual places as it is an east wind today.

We’re in one of the wind warning areas but it’s gone weirdly still. Waiting for the wind to start up again.

deeahgwitch · 14/11/2025 14:23

I’m in Dublin Ireland and it’s pretty wet and windy. There’s an orange weather warning.
It’s a north easterly wind which is odd considering the Spanish meteorologists named it Claudia. I thought it was was coming up from the south 🙈

highlandponymummy · 14/11/2025 14:36

East Midlands, lots of flooding and no signs of stopping

LemaxObsessive · 14/11/2025 14:51

North Yorkshire - very, very wet! ☔️ My back garden has flooded. You can still see patches of grass but much too much water to let the dog out. Not at home or I’d upload a photo. Quite how I’m going to convince the dog to go for wee-wees this evening, I’ve no idea as he point blank refuses to get his paws wet!

YourWinter · 14/11/2025 14:53

I’m on the south eastern edge of the Amber warning and it’s just been raining, not torrential, nothing out of the ordinary at all.

ninjahamster · 14/11/2025 14:54

We are in the amber area. Been raining constantly all day. Not seen any reports of flooding yet though.

SoftPillow · 14/11/2025 15:07

I’m in the amber section and have had quite heavy rain constantly since 8pm last night. Low lying sections of the garden are forming puddles and roads too have large puddles across them and water running off the fields. There is some flooding locally.

Iwontlethtesungodownonme · 14/11/2025 15:19

Just walked home from work. Wind and rain awful. So noisy.
Dog needed a wee but was too scared to go out on her own so I had to stand in the garden with her. She’s a German Shepherd!!

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 14/11/2025 15:22

North Midlands. Driving rain, (not even any birds about!) 40mph winds, and bloody cold. (3 degrees C windchill.)

BlackeyedSusan · 14/11/2025 15:35

The wind has picked up to mid forties gusts according to the forecast.

It's still wet but I have been asleep for a couple of hours and can't see much difference from here (second floor window.) About to venture out in it again will see if the river has risen or the state of the roads have changed.

East Midlands utterly vile. Non stop rain and very windy. Almost dark at 15:45. No dogs walked today as I’m unwell but they hate the rain anyway and aren’t bothered.

Ilikewinter · 14/11/2025 15:57

Lincolsnhire, just outside of the amber zone. I woke up about 2am and swear it's not stopped raining since. Wind has picked up to, forecasted 40mph+ gusts. We back onto farm land so we have no windbreak as such!. Looks like we are in for some heavy downpours tonight, so far we just have puddling in the garden.

EasyLifer · 14/11/2025 15:59

West Mids here. I've only walked to work and back so haven't seen any flooded roads or rivers but on my way home my umbrella almost blew out of my hand! Also, it's bin day and I had to dodge all the empty bins that had blown over and are blocking pavements.

Evenstar · 14/11/2025 16:16

North West, wind is dreadful here, the chickens have been hiding in their house most of the day and our fence (brand new in the summer ☹️) has come loose

Evenstar · 14/11/2025 16:17

I was nearly taken off my feet in town earlier on.

Pixiedust1234 · 14/11/2025 16:37

It's very soggy out there and the gusts of wind have broken a couple of obelisks as well as stolen my extractor vent. I now have a massive hole in my fascia which is making whistling noises 😫 E.Mids

senua · 14/11/2025 16:41

I loved that the news this morning was not pronouncing 'Claudia' as Ms Winkleman but as 'cloudier'.Grin

The rain is not nice but the wind is making it far worse.

PauliesWalnuts · 14/11/2025 16:50

North Manchester and just lost two fence panels that I was trying to get another winter out of 🙄

That's interesting. I'm also E Mids and just a little bit of rain here. No flooding. Melton area. Where are you?

Oh wow! We're in Skegby, North Notts. The river below our pony's field has completely burst it's banks and is halfway across another field. Thank goodness we're on the top of the hill!

welshweasel · 14/11/2025 17:08

We’re in south wales right at the centre of the storm. The rain is pretty awful and there is widespread flooding, most schools have been shut all day/shut early and many major roads are closed.

They're pronouncing it 'Clowdier' because it was named in Spain by their met office, because it's having the earliest impact in Spain. If we'd named it, it would have been Bram.

I'm in North Yorkshire too, and we're damp but not especially wet for November (which, to be fair, is pretty wet).

I’m E Mids, Staffordshire way. Been pelting down since about 6am with 40odd mph
winds currently. Lots of flooding on back roads near me.

TheresGlitterAllOverMyHouse · 14/11/2025 19:43

Has been raining since 2300 yesterday, several main roads are flooded.

It suddenly went really cold with strong winds around 1400, feels freezing outside.

Im in an amber warning with heavy rain forecast all night and most of tomorrow, thankfully it’s the weekend so the kids don’t have to go out in it.
