Carefully not putting the storm name in the thread title yet! If it didn't get named, it would make things confusing down the line. However, it looks very likely that Storm Henk will arrive on Saturday. An early heads up as it will probably be another high volume travel day.

At the moment, it looks like it rapidly deepens just to the west of Ireland, bringing some very nasty gales over Ireland and Irish sea neighbouring areas, before these gales transfer eastwards. Looking at the shape of the storm I think there's potential for some short lived severe winds over a small area

Blizzards possible over higher ground in Scotland, heavy rain in places.

Will update as and when I can. In the meantime, take care with todays Storm Gerrit.

We've had blue skies, then rain, rainbows. The wind has finally gone

Last night was horrendous, thunder and lightning, high winds and lashing rain. Wasn't showing on BBC Weather. In West Sussex.
