It seems that Sundays are the day for storms this month, though I know there have been lots of other warnings.

As cooler (not not colder!) weather comes in from the west, heralding a more westerly, unsettled feel for a little while, thunderstorms may develop in the east Midlands through to NE England and Scotland. Torrential rain and other associated hazards are possible.

Please tell me West Yorkshire will get some kind of storm today. We don't seem to be in the zone. This weather gives me migraines. It is getting breezy out there so I'm hoping.

Some parts may well. It will certainly feel cooler once the 'cold' front has gone thorough. It might take a little while for indoors to realise that though!

I'm really hoping for a storm here, but the forecast said 2pm, then 4pm and now it's just saying light rain. It's too hot and I can't be bothered to water my plants, so fingers crossed something happens. Grin

Dont use those meteogram forecasts to try and estimate when a storm might pop up. It's a bit like rolling marbles down a hill. One may go over your patch of grass, or it may not but in general marbles would be expected to make their way down the hill following some sort of path.

That's probably a really crap analogy.

I'm NE Scotland and walked along to my grans earlier. It was warm with a Breeze. When I left it was darkened and starting to spit very very gently. And I immediately thought "thunder is coming!". Pegged it home with the little one but so far not come to anything.

Whinge · 25/06/2023 15:54

That's probably a really crap analogy.

I'll happily take a thousand crap analogies, just send me a storm as well. 😂

Raining quite heavily here on the Fife coast. The relief from the muggy air feels lovely, I'm sure the grass and the plants are dancing. 🌱

PurplePositivity · 25/06/2023 15:56

North Yorkshire here and it feels like a storm is coming, wind has seriously picked up and it's not quite a muggy.

I think a full on storm for half an hour is just what's needed!

hoochycrone · 25/06/2023 16:27

Yep, West Yorkshire, getting my cushions in Grin

GloriaSmud · 25/06/2023 16:32

Looking at the radar, there's an a splodge of 'something' coming from Birmingham way, that's developed in the last 30 minutes or so that might give me something in the way of rain.

I'm in the NW and for the last half hour we've had thunder, some hail and torrential rain. Skies are very dark.

And now the skies are clearing and the sun is out 🤣

AlexandraPeppernose · 25/06/2023 16:49

Suffolk here. 30c at very muggy. It's glorious

hoochycrone · 25/06/2023 17:07

Nah, no rain <gets cushions back out>

TokyoSushi · 25/06/2023 17:12

Torrential rain here in Cheshire for around an hour about 3pm, now grey, but still 26.6 in my house!

PurplePositivity · 25/06/2023 17:17

I though I heard thunder but no storm yet...!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 25/06/2023 17:23

Breeze getting up in SW London and it's gone a bit hazy.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 25/06/2023 17:40

No storm as such but the torrential rain hit W Yorkshire and it's so much cooler thankfully.

Jobreveal · 25/06/2023 17:43

It's feeling much more comfortable in my part of the north west. The wind got up earlier. We had heavy rain and rumbles of thunder and the temperature dropped 6 degrees 😊 The sun has now come back out in time to barbecue.

Winnerturkeydinner · 25/06/2023 17:44

Its rumbling in the east mids. I love it.

GloriaSmud · 25/06/2023 19:30

Our Birmingham 'splodge' of rain disintegrated before it got to Leicester but another 'splodge' developed. We had dark clouds, one rumble of thunder and that was it! The temperature's dropped and it's a tiny bit fresher now so something good came out of it.

itsgettingweird · 25/06/2023 20:11

South coast here. We've had a lovely cool "breeze" (it's actually been windy) today.

Last Tuesday we had a surprise downpour (understatement) and thunder storm at 5am. I was halfway through my morning walk and it caught me by surprise!

justasking111 · 25/06/2023 20:27

Son delayed trip back to Leeds from N Wales because of storm warnings. We had a spit spot of rain here for a few minutes only 😡

Embelline · 25/06/2023 20:39

South east here, wish we were getting a storm! It's so humid still.

SunshinyDay1 · 25/06/2023 22:21

South eat, wind and cloud but went over without so much as a cursory drop

Notoironing · 26/06/2023 12:10

Kent here. No storms forecast but thundery looking clouds …

Shellcollector · 26/06/2023 12:53

Jeez. The downpour we've just had. Needless to say I got caught in it and the clothes I had on the washing line look 2 sizes bigger with the weight of it.

I live in a Sanctuary sauna (one bedroom social housing flat) You wouldnt keep an animal in these conditions.

If it's so terrible, why would you not move out? There ARE other options you know? If it's so bad that you're saying it's not even fit for an animal, then obviously there are better value alternatives out there.

We are all masters of our own destiny.
