Autumn storm warnings.

Tomorrow sees a potent cold front sweep southwards, bringing the risk of short lived strong gusts, thunder and very heavy rain as it passes through. All parts maybe affected, but I'd expect the front to liven up through the afternoon.

As expected, the cold front is travelling soutwards, having formed a squall line on its leading edge as it heads into the SE. Gusts could be pretty lively and downpours fairly sudden.

You're welcome! On some parts of the squall line it is just a bit damp. On other parts, it's definitely more sudden monsoon like.

We had the sudden monsoon like rain just after 5. Didn't last long and broke to a lovely sunset 😃

It was a bit of a damp squib when it passed though here. Ah well, on to the next potential autumn weather....

Tonight could be a little lively along channel coasts.

Hammering down here too, east midlands. Very quiet on kid front, damp squid(ish) on fireworks. I like rain 😂

The met office have now issued a more widespread rain warning for overnight too.

In Bristol and was woken by the wind. Didn't realise it would be so awful - I left the halloween decorations out so I expect they'll be littered everywhere tomorrow!

North East Essex - the wind is nuts at the moment. Finding it difficult to sleep, strong winds are probably my least favourite re weather.

Wind and rain absolutely howling in Oxfordshire, just woke me up. Fretting about some roofs I'm responsible for...

Very heavy rain here in Devon currently. Its woken me up.

I was woken up in Hampshire too. Wind was worse than the rain.
My bedroom gets the full force of it as the wind races in over a field and hits the corner of the house. I'm seriously considering getting an air bed to sleep in the kitchen diner on bad nights.

In London we had very heavy rain and howling wind for much of the night. A lot more leaves have come down. Still it kept the older trick or treaters at home.

It was a pretty stormy night for many in the south!

Potential for some potent thunderstorms later today after the cold front has moved through.

Walked around Portsmouth this morning (at 5 am 🙄🤣) whilst ds swam and it was very windy - bins and bags everywhere but other than a few squalling rain showers that lasted about 1 minute it was dry!

Another on the Hampshire coast - we've lost a fence panel, all the garden furniture is strewn about and trees in pots blown over. The rain is horizontal. Leaves everywhere. It's worse than 'the hurricane'.

Any chance of knowing if the rain will clear by around 6pm for London on Saturday? I'm going to a party and it looks like soggy fireworks for us :(

Heads up for SW tomorrow, a nasty complex low looks like it might cause some pretty strong winds over a localised area. Gusting 60-70mph. Perhaps up to 80mph along exposed coasts. However, the probability of this happening is pretty small. Keep an eye on the forecast for developments.
