Snow watch!

I know it will seem quite crackers to start this when the weekend has been so lovely, but we are starting to get some model consistency on GFS for the potential for snow Friday night into Saturday as a northerly plunge looks set to take place.

Primary risk areas are obviously for hillier parts of Scotland and also Wales, but higher ground in the south and south east including over dartmoor and down the east coast may also see some sleet or wet snow.

On the plus side, Ds ddil and dgd are driving over to north Derbyshire from Aberystwyth tonight, so stay away snow

I’m supposed to be going into London on Sunday. Hopefully it’ll have made it’s mind up whether it’s going to snow or not by tomorrow morning. I have to get back Sunday evening, so can’t risk getting stuck up there due to the trains not running.

Yay! Proper snow! Sticking on cars and grass. Not too much here but I imagine it's quite thick on the tops.

Drizzle ours said 80% but no snow yet! I don't want it really, we always get snowed in and it takes forever to clear!

GFS really isn't performing very well at the moment, so we need to take any output with a massive pinch of salt. (which we may need). A lot of automated forecasts use GFS, so if you going by weather symbols on iphone/android apps, they may well be spouting rubbish.

Best to stick to the met office or weatherpro HD.
