I've just been looking at the contingency planners info on the met office. It is impossible to tell at the moment what early summer will look like. We may be falling into a La Nina pattern which would tend to bring cooler more unsettled weather, but the sea temperatures are such that they would imply warmer settled weather.

it looks like it could be damp for the southern half of England next week, with some thunderstorms possible.

It is going to be a HOT, lovely summer.

I have ordered it.

I have a newborn baby and about an excess of 3.5 stone to contend with this summer. I normally love the heat - even when abroad in excess of 40 degrees I don't normally wilt.

This year unsettled and cool is just what the flab ordered - it can't warm up until I've at least lost half of it and can get into at least some of my clothes.

it looks cooler next week, so hopefully a bit more comfy for you :) thunder storm risk across much of the southern half mon/tues (rather jealous of the storms that parts of the west midlands have been seeing today)

there have been three lines of storms, we were between two of them. close enough to see the clouds and get rain but not much thunder.

We got storms yesterday afternoon after hitting 25C during the day. I'm told by my parents who are on holiday in Cyprus, that they 'only' reached 21C yesterday

The Daily Mail are saying it's going to be the hottest summer for 40 years.

My allotment is like dust. We could do with some overnight rain this week.

It is very dry at present. Almost looking forward to tomorrows rainfall just to damp everything down a bit.

Since the heat haters get the weather they like most of the year I am going to say that they ABU and we in Yorkshire deserve a nice warm summer for a change. About 25 degrees will suffice - not too hot and not too cool.

24C is my perfect temp. T shirt without boil your head stuff.

I'd settle for 24 degrees. We managed 22 degrees yesterday.

I love hot weather, but we very rarely get very hot weather where we live. Also, I work in an over air conditioned office and have a car with air con so I don't usually get the excessive heat that people in London do.

yy nick the heat haters get their own way 50 weeks a year.

24 will do me, hotter would be nice but then it's a faff making sure the kids don't overheat.

OYBBK is the current met office forecast for London overnight 14th into 15th reliable? It's the London moonwalk, I've switched to volunteering so hoping for dry more than when I walked it lol.

I think so Balthazar - the models seem pretty consistent. There may be a little light rain towards morning, but it doesn't look very likely at the moment.

Weather warning for heavy rain here in SW from 9 am today till 9am tomorrow.

We've had some drops but nothing that could be called Rain yet. Nice clouds though!

looks cool but settled at the moment. Similar to this weekend. It's at the end of the forecasting period though so plenty of time for changes.
