Weather warnings ~ snow/ice Wednesday (13/1) onwards

issued by the metoffice. Includes an amber warning for snow in some areas of Scotland.

South northants update - only 1.5-2cm but we managed to sledge! Good quality sticky snow. Snowing very lightly again now.

Built a 4ft tall snowman! I did have to get up before dawn to clear enough snow for it, but it was totally worth it!

Good few cm's here leics/Derbys border. Looking at the temperatures for the next few days I think it's here to stay - it's very pretty and great on a Sunday but I hope we don't get any more as the main roads should hopefully be gritted and cleared by Monday if not.

More than I've seen in a long while myvisions. Looks like there won't be any more sadly :(

So - OYBBK and Gloria - I know it's going to get warmer now, but is there another cold snap on the horizon? I should hope so, in order to balance out December!

Snowing in Manchester again!

Spartacus, nothing severe showing - warming up a bit, perhaps a fair bit by next weekend, then the models seem to show quite average temps but perhaps unsettled.

I am amazed and I don't know if I should be proud or a little bit worried that I am now the parent of a proper grown-up

There is a tiny bit of snow at the end of my drive. All the roads are clear and I'm hoping that there won't be any ice for the school run.

I'll be watching the weather topic for an end of the month forecast - long planned weekend away and I could do without disruption to the travel plans.
