Thunderstorms today?

Perhaps for some people.... hail may develop, with greatest risk down the east coast I think.

Only a couple of rumbles.

After the snow of yesterday, rain of last night, beautiful sunshine this morning - we now have a terrific thunderstorm!

Last couple of hours we've had huge black clouds, heavy bursts of rain, hail and blazing sunshine. At intervals of about 15 minutes.
South Downs, back to sunshine now. Had a magnificent rainbow too.

I've been running around like a maniac all day, getting the gardens tidy, front and back, getting washing done and out as quick as possible. Need to get a tent up in the back garden (don't ask! - see my thread tomorrow from about 4pm for details!) Keep looking up at the clouds, but the only ones I've seen are white and fluffy! Just looking now and still it's mostly blue, with a few fluffy clouds!

Hmmm, I don't think it's going to rain here!

Famous last words Mo, I reckon it is coming to you later this evening.

Yeah, thanks mate. It did arrive briefly, at the precise moment DD and I were at the point of no return in putting the tent up!

It didn't really get going Kitten. We just had that half hour whist putting the tent up and that was it!

It's pretty fine today too, so far.

I have thunder!

I was just coming to start a thread. Its rumbling round and round, no rain or hail. Sky is a filthy colour though, with blue sky in the distance so its on its way.

Yay!

My weather app said yesterday evening that we would have hail but we didn't. Got sunshine, showers and black clouds here just now. Felt very warm outside a few mins ago - I was out doing a manual waterbutt transfer so I could capture more of this lovely wet for later use on my veggies.

Like magic, got hail now!

Big ol' hailstones, flashes and deep rumbling thunder now. The Boy is standing on the back of the sofa grinning at it all

I'm just about to take the tent down as we've not had any rain for a couple of days here in Wales - please no thunderstorms! Mind you it's clear blue sky & fluffy white clouds at the moment which for Anglesey could mean thunder imminently

We have had hail, and lightning. Only 1 second between the lightning and thunder.

Lots of thunder here (southern Hampshire). Looks pretty dark towards Basingstoke. Now raining quite heavily.

I didn't much like the new-look Met Office maps to begin with, but I'm finding them rather useful today, especially the zoom feature.

Huuuge crack of thunder a few minutes ago. Lots of hail - almost looks like it's snowing.
