Tuesday snow

Some severe conditions for parts of Yorkshire and NE england again. Parts of Scotland too. Mixture of showers - light and heavy snow, some drizzle for many of the rest of us.

We have a very light covering where I am but the main area of snow has been much slower than predicted last night. I don't expect to see huge accumulations in the south today and it may end up being a bit of a wet mix at times.

We have perfect teeny little six-sided snow crystals now. Beautiful but not very useful!

Thank you for the link. Bloody awful bug. DH has it too but has a BIG meeting today so has staggered into work. I did suggest that possibly giving the bug to clients and his boss was not a good idea but he was adamant Hmm

Bigger and more flakes here now.

It keeps attempting to snow here. Going to have to keep an eye on things this afternoon. We're forecast heavy snow from 3pm onwards and DD1 stays at school 'til 5.10pm on Tuesdays. Don't fancy trying to get off our estate in heavy snow to go and pick her up if Snowmageddon starts!

I am on the outskirts of Croydon (North Surrey) and it has been coming down heavily since the early hours. We have about 5 inches now and it is still coming down - lightly at the moment but I think it is supposed to get heavy again in the next hour. Lots of stuck cars, couldn't take DS to nursery as not enough staff could get in. Off to get DD from school soon. I actually prefer the school run in the snow! :)

London City have cancelled their flights.
A lot of snow out there on the radar still to go for the NE, some of the Midlands and about half of the south. I should have looked closer at that before I cleared the driveway Hmm

It's tipping down here (near Bromley, London/Kent borders).

I cleared the car of snow this morning (4 inches or so) and another 5 inches had settled in the next 5 hours till I just went to try and get DS from nursery which is shutting early.

The 2 hills near us are shut as nothing can get up them and gritters can't get through. Nursery is at the bottom of the hill so I've just sent DH out to tramp through the snow to carry DS home!

OYBBK, are we due a dump tonight in North London?

The BBC website shows delicate snow showers overnight but the met site says heavy snow.

What's your interpretation? I only believe you.
