I've heard it's the thing to buy.

Yes, it's the only kind of pasta that's safe for your baby's organs.

(Are we talking internal organs here? Or do babies all have church organs, and my two have misplaced theirs. Confused)

I didn't bother, I cut up normal pasta or used soup pasta when we had it in the cupboards. Loads cheaper and I did it that way probably because I'm a wee bit common

is it made with 'baby-grade' flour?

In an extreme case, you can buy normal pasta, put it in a plstic bag and pummel it with a rolling pin. Then remove & gently boil ONLY the peices that look soft and rounded - any sharp edges could lacerate baby's delicate little mouth...

'Baby-grade' flour makes me wonder. Do the babies grade it? And it is related to baby oil? And what is baby oil made from ...

I've always wondered if Baby-Grade os Conservation-grade is the better of the two for my special ickle bab-e.

Fruit-shoots now I know where they are.

You can get it from Boots or Sainsburys. The boots one is AK and the Sainsburys one is Peter Rabbit. Both are shite. They turn instantly to mush in the pan.

You can get tiny pasta from supermarkets for soup though. Or just smack the buggery out of normal pasta (WMMC in sweary mood sorry!)

How do they get the babies to grade the food? Isn't child labour illegal?

Aitch - from the C&G website: Did you know...?
... we can trace every single pear in our baby pear yogurt back to the orchard it came from and the expert farmer who grew it.

Holy feck, they've started genetically barcoded the fruit!

I prefer amateur farmers. I suspect this statement is totally false: "In our fields and orchards, we only grow food specifically for babies.". I really doubt C+G owns fields and orchards.

Oh, the whole thing is shite, isn't it.

Well I'm sorry to say I did look for soup pasta (but couldn't find it in my local supermarkets - don't think people round here make their own soup). I didn't stoop to baby pasta though - too expensive.

witchandchips · 03/07/2007 21:34

well it would be, very hard to make pasta out of babies [groan emoticon]

gingeme · 03/07/2007 21:38

Yes that whole statement is shite because I used to work in a vegetable factory( twas dead exciting) not and we used to empty loads of bags of potatoes into a great big wooden box. They were all rotten and soft. I asked the line manager where they were headed for and hes said baby food companies

gingeme - no wonder DD goes for the catfood every time!

Oooh we gave her porridge in a bowl for the first time today, it was HILARIOUS - picked the bowl up, slurped it like soup, then grabbed the cat - the cat was mortified (and sticky!)

You don't mean Annabel Carmels' baby Pasta sold in Boots? It's wheat free, y'know.

Report
whomovedmychocolate · 03/07/2007 22:29

Taste free too - made some, chucked it, made Dd some proper food. She wolfed it down.

Mind you she'd have eaten the plate it was served on given half the chance so she probably would have given the mush a go had I put it in front of her.
