Blimey, those last 30 or so posts went quickly! Here's a lovely shiny new thread.

See, now I am really cross at the f*er who stole my phone. Turns out that FIL's old phone which was my backup is tied to his network which is different to mine so my SIM doesn't work nor does my mobile data so I can only play PoGo in my house with wifi. Seems like the worst day to not be able to Pokewalk. Grumble over.

I am glad all of you are doing so well though and there will be other days!

@Soubriquet I really wanted a shiny Sudowoodo. I've got a shiny Magmar, Scyther and Hitmontop. DS got a shiny Shinx, Pikachu and Meditite

These are all my shinies.

I have shiny meditate, shiny hitmonchan, shiny karrablast and shiny burmy.

no shiny unown yet.

phew. I’m done now. I’ve been playing since 10 am non stop. Hatched no end of eggs. Caught no end of Pokémon. Evolved a good few too. Happy bunny

What a day. Walked over 8 miles with my son today. Caught loads of shinies and new Pokémon for the Pokédex. It also helped as I competed a lot of other challenges that had been hanging around but dammit it took us so long to find Grunts today.

Got numerous shiny Pikachu this afternoon and a couple of Chansey.

not seen a single grunt today. Couldn’t even find a balloon when that challenge came up.

Blimey. Was still normal for grunts here.

I have seen, don’t evolve the shiny chansey. It doesn’t look as good as blissey

No balloons here either, I think they stopped them during the day. As soon as it turned 6pm a balloon popped up again.

I managed to get shiny hitmontop, Pikachu, Foongus, Panpour, burmy, Swirlix and I hatched a shiny Riolu 😮😮

Does buying the ticket massively increase shiny odds??

Dh and I went the same places and plates a similar amount and he got 6 and I got 0!

Yes the ticket gives an increased chance of shinies

Got working phone now. But I realised I am rubbish at Go Battle League. Any tips on that one?

For Go Battle League - how good to do you want to be? Are we talking reaching rank 20, or are you aiming higher?

I'd say to focus on one cup at a time, rather than trying to get good at all of them at once. Use the tier lists on Gamepress...

...to identify what Tier 1 and 2 mons you already have (remember to check they're within the CP limit for whichever league you're playing though). Then plug different combinations into pvpoke.com until you find a well-balanced team.

If your goal is just rank 20, I'd advise holding off for a couple of weeks due to the new season starting. The ranks will reset, so if you getting cracking right away, you're up against potentially some really strong players - I prefer to give them a couple of weeks to get ahead! But also, they've just announced a bunch of changes for the new season which may affect the tier lists I mentioned before, so worth waiting to see about that before getting stuck in.

If you do want to go to Ace rank and beyond, you also need to selecting mons with the right IVs, giving them each second moves and learning all the type weaknesses so you know when to use each one.

I feel the need to apologise to anyone who added me as a friend and is now getting a series of gifts with a postbox as the postcard - or a rusty stinkpipe!

DS (12) has declared Pokémon "really sad" and refuses to come out with me, so that, combined with crazy work (I work from home, but school holidays means any breaks are dedicated to feeding said DS and trying to persuade him to do something that's not a computer game - oh, the irony!) means I've been limited to the Pokestops near home.

Fortunately school starts again next week so I'm hoping that means there's more opportunity for a lunchtime walk - and a better variety of Pokestops!

I like the stinkpipe 😀. Anyway, mine have not been terribly interesting either. So don't worry 🙂
