Welcome to the thread BabySocks, your reason for playing is better than mine, which I can't even remember now. I still play every day, not in a structured way, more a keep myself out of potential trouble kind of way. I enjoy it and say to everybody who has youngsters why not? It gets your kid/s to exercise in a way they don't complain about. Hopefully they become experts and introduce you to the cartoon and maybe the trading game too, then they can teach you things. It's brilliantly simple.

Definitely true about exercise. DS is determined to walk 12 km to hatch an egg!

Same as lots of others, I play as it's something that me and my teenage son can do together and we've been doing it for years now.

I started for DS but I also enjoy it for its own sake. To me, it seems to be a very friendly game and I feel like there aren't enough of those these days.

I started right back in 2016! I’ve always loved Pokémon so when I found out about the game, I got it. Everyone was playing then, so it was easy to play. It’s a bit harder now because those who did play with me don’t anymore

What do you love about Pokémon? Personally, I love the way they all relate to nature. I like the way they look in all forms and I especially like evolving a new one when you don't know what it will evolve into.

I didn't quite get to the 100 zigzagoon in the community day and only 3 not that great shinies. My eldest gained 12 shinies... just didn't have the luck on my side on Saturday. But I don't mind - the boys had fun and that's what it's all about.

I confess to knowing nothing about Pokemon other than Pokemon Go - the kids have millions of cards, books and other games. I think it's a great game, but I dread to think what it's doing to my phone battery 😆

Finally levelled up to 37 today. I can't tell you how long that has taken. About a year?! But I've had periods of not playing. Wonder how long it will take me to get to 38!

I got more shinies than I knew what to do with on Saturday, which is unusual. Already had the hatted shiny zigzagoon from gofest.

I had to do what someone else suggested in the end @ISaySteadyOn and do the turning onto airplane mode trick. Finally achieved it yesterday!
