I got this for Christmas and I’m in love. Is there a thread/community etc I could join?

I’m usually an AIBU inhabitant so this is a bit new...

I don't know who to tag for this but I visited ELYSIUM island tonight and it was truly lovely. So many flowers everywhere. Thank you for the oranges as well as the pick of your beach bits and pieces. Other than mystery islands yours was the first island I have visited and it has given me so much to look forward to for my island! Thank you for your hospitality!

DS got this for his bday a few days ago so I've decided to give it a go as I'm kinda bedbound these days and very bored! Started it but have no idea what I'm at!! Made a fishing rod.. No idea how to use it! I knew I'd find a post on mumsnet about it Grin any tips?!!

Oh yeah, I've got some in awkward places too, and not laid out straight. Might have to move some.

Can I visit someone to sell turnips? Any price over 100 is good as I'm either on another downward streak or I'm on a high spike but I won't see it as the shop will be shut tomorrow for remodelling.

@Gotmyprincecharming Hope you are picking it up. Tools are important. Shake trees to get twigs and pick up stones you see. (Occasionally tree shaking will get you a green leaf that is a useful item.) Once you can make a flimsy stone axe you can hit rocks which will give you clay, stone and iron. Hit trees to get wood. Buy medicine though because sometimes wasps come out of the tree and sting you. If you get stung twice you faint and end up back at your tent/house. Fishing is tricky at first. I face the fish that seems to land the cast in the right direction. The fish seem to freeze for a moment then you know they will nibbble or bite. Watch carefully and when they bite hold A down and reel fish in. Watch out for balloons with presents flying around. With a catapult pop the balloon and grab the gift!
Post again with any questions and an update of where you are at. I will be on today and will happily come visit and bring you some bits. I posted my friend code so please add me. I have been playing since 12/1 so not hugely experienced but certainly happy to help!

@Gotmyprincecharming When you hit or shake something (trees, rocks), you can do it multiple times to get multiple items. Not going to admit how long it took me to realise that...

Fishing tip - turn the volume up and listen for the big ‘splash’ to know when to press the button to reel it in.

Look for big fish shadows in the river mouth and on the pier for high-value fish. Also check the high ponds and rivers for species you don’t have yet.

If you dig two holes behind you when hitting a rock and position yourself between them, it stops you from being pushed back and you can hit each rock 8 times for maximum items.

Right now they're 113 bells until 12pm.

I'm at school so I'm going to risk waiting until after 12pmConfused as they've been low all week so hoping for a peak!

I'll let you know how much they are later!

Oh gosh ye are all so good with your info and tips.. I have so much to learn!! Spent 2 hours wandering around last night with not a clue what to do Grin gonna have another go now and see if I can get my head round it all!!

Help! How on earth do I get to 3 stars in my island?!
I went from one star to two stars by picking up my turnips and putting them on tables instead of the ground and pulling up all the weeds. Went to a 3rd star as soon as the 6th person (after the original two animals) moved to my island
