I got this for Christmas and I’m in love. Is there a thread/community etc I could join?

I’m usually an AIBU inhabitant so this is a bit new...

@Natsku campsite visitors will just show up - Isabelle will announce you have a visitor in her morning speech
You can then go and talk to them and see if they want to move to your island

Alternatively if you have amiibo cards you can invite someone to the campsite using the machine in resident services

Ooh, can I join in? I posted on another thread but think it may be on its way to being a zombie. We got the switch for Xmas but only got online play working yesterday which is when I realised the only people we know who play are 8 year old boys.... so DS is friend rich already and I'm a sad loser.

Natsku You should have one today since it's the first day of the campsite being there. It will be a smug villager and they will be moving in no matter what - they'll just stay there until you talk to them!

After that, the probability of you getting a visitor is this...

1 day after last camper left = 0%
2 days = 0%
3 days = 5%
4 days = 10%
5 days = 15%
6 days and more = 20%

Had my first game of treasure hunt with one of my neighbours yesterday and I had to give medicine to one that was sick.

I bought this for my 10 year old for Xmas but I've played it more than her!
Happy to pm my friends code if anyone wants a new island to visit, I'm building it up and would appreciate any codes so I can get new stuff!

Is there any way of removing a villager? I can't stand Bud and now a copy of Bud called Rex has moved in as well I've tried hitting them with the net and I've tried complaining about them to resident services and they won't leave.

I think just long term neglect. Try totally ignoring and avoiding?

There is a trick to getting them out but it involves a lot of time and time-travelling which will make your island into weed central. I can send a link to it if you want @ByeGermsByeWorries ?

@Poorlykitten I've been neglecting Bud since I started playing I've ran away from him when he tries to talk, I've hit him, complained about him, didn't visit him when he was ill and didn't give him any of the birthday cakes, sent every villager a letter and a gift except him and he's still bumbling about. And now Rex as well

As silly as it sounds, cosying up to a villager is the quickest way to get them out in my experience as they “feel comfort asking your advice”.
Or you can use the campsite method. Next time you have someone staying you can play games with them to encourage them to stay (just keep chatting to them to trigger this). Then they’ll say X was thinking of leaving anyway, want me to talk with them?
If they suggest the wrong villager, exit the game without saving (press home then X to exit animal crossing) then go back in and talk again and a different name should come up. Rinse and repeat until they suggest the one you want gone!
